Until 2 weeks ago reception was great, but lately I can't hear my calls (but they can hear me). When the caller speaks it sounds like what they call "cross-talk", but without the talking. What's weird is that my antenna has 5 bars - whatever. So I've been calling and complaining, and they offered me free minutes (no thanks) so I took a credit. Thanks for the $5, T-Mobile. Can I get out of my contract?

From Motor Parkway and Old Nicholls Rd in Hauppauge, and through Smithtown, Nesconsett and Lake Grove on Old Nicholls Rd no service at all with AT&T Wireless. Verizon, Nextel, Sprint, and T- Mobile all have service there.

The best place I get reception is in my room and if that the case I might as well just use my own Home phone, I have to go all the way to mill basin for good reception.

I have tried several phones ranging from different makers including Nokia, Sony, and Panasonic and the results are the same. I get absolutely no "tower" in the signal meter while I'm in this area. However, as I start to drive and go to another arae, Nesconset for example, the reception is excellent (full towers in signal meter). I initially thought it was the house I'm renting (as it used to work in Farmingville where we used to live); but then it didn't get any reception outside the house either - and it gets excellent reception just a mile away.

This is the highest natural point in Manhattan. There is often no T-Mobile reception here, inside or outside. Sometimes the signal is strong, however. One cannot count on T-Mobile in this location.

As far as i'm concern NY sucks for Nextel. I can't get signal in numerous locations varying in NYC. However, when I had Sprint I got signal everywhere in NYC, and from Maine to Florida.
