There is virtually no reception in southern Wyoming County! We have to walk or drive a mile or two to get poor reception at best! We dare Verizon to come down and do their "can you hear me now commercial." (We used to have Cingular and it was no better.)

There is virtually no reception in the southern third of Wyoming County, New York - along Route 39 from Pike to Arcade, there is perhaps one mile of a twelve mile stretch with reception. I suppose Verizon doesn't have enough customers to make it financially feasible - but what if someone needs help?

Cuts out and drops calls; it's almost impossible to have a conversation, although it works better during the day than at night. No better outside than inside. A friend had no trouble using Verizon here.

We've had Verizon for almost 10 years and swore by them until last Thursday afternoon. Bars of reception alternating between none and five but rarely long enough to make a call. Never a dropped call in out town, or almost anywhere else and we travel often up and down I95 from GA to NY, until last week.
However, since last Thursday afternoon, no walkie-talkie or call ability unless we are at least 1/2 mile south of home. Verizon is looking into it but I'm not holding out much hope.
Thinking of switching to Nextel; anyone have feedback?

Reception is generally good but as soon as you enter the Dix Hills area while on the Nothern State Parkway your call will most certainly drop and it has been like this for years.

While in building at 83-53 Manton Street, Archbishop Molloy High School - no service at all but Sprints and Verizon cellphones are working. AT&T cannot compete with these two!!
