AT&T GSM very poor in Staten Island in general, but near the Bayonne Bridge in particular. At this intersection (where my office is) no reception whatsoever.

There is a major dead spot around Tompkinsville, which the company admitted one year ago. Company says new towers will be installed by April 2004, but in this area service still very bad. AT&T phones in this area work very well. Service one block away (on top of the hill, Scribner Ave.) is better. Except for the dead spot, where my office is (very important!), service has been average to good.

I switch between phones (GSM) and both have no signal in my apartment. My wife has T-Moblie and she gets signal everywhere. But then again T-mobile use to be voicestream which used to be Omni-point. Which would explain why coverage is everywhere.

There is something that emits very strong signal killing all the providers in this spot.
