Verizon is rated number one by Consumer Reports, yet all incoming and outgoing calls are almost immediately dropped. Verizon has replaced the phone, but their customer service is horrible. The reception is awful. Someone in my home has a different phone, and service, and they have no problem. If Verizon is the best, I'm scared to try the worst.

Sanyo RL-2500 (SCP-5400)
Winch Rd. / Baker St. intersection, Lakewood, NY 14750 Sun Jul 10, 2005

This area of Winch Rd.and the surrounding half mile area have no reception from any provider. We have two different providers Sprint, CellOne and three different models of phones. They all have the same problem. We have tried external antennas, amplifiers, antennas connected to amplifiers. Nothing fixes the problem... we use to be able to weak signals... we were told that the providers have aimed their towers and adjusted the signals so now there's a dead spot. We've measured the signal in the surrounding dead spot and it the RSSL is from -98 to -107. It would be nice to have the antennas aimed so we all could have service.

Was told to have service with no problem by sales rep. There is no service at all with Nextel. You think being a state raod off a future interstate road plus the road leads the the Nextel Nascar Track would have full service where ever you go around the area. Yeah Right! Like everyone says NEXTEL SUCKS!

Have been told that Cingular is only tower in the area, but that it's been taken down due to construction being done near old oil (?) tanks down by the beach in OB. Tried ATT, Nextel, Verizon. All bad in this area.

All Poughkeepsie / 376 intersection, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 Fri Jun 24, 2005

I just moved from Arlingtonover here. T-Mobile is absolutely pothetic in Poughkeepsie and around regions. I ahve to forward calls to my land line and then I am charged double minutes for doing so. Just witing for this stupid contract to get over. According to their data base(T-mobile) they have average coverage over here. but the fact is there is absolutely no coverage. To use my cell phone I have to drive 3 miles from my place.

Main / Jones intersection, East Setauket, NY 11733 Tue Jun 21, 2005

Reception is very erratic in this entire area. Much worse in summer months when humidity is high and trees are in bloom. I would avoid the carrier and the phone maker. The phone repeatly needs replacement or repair.
