My company switches carriers every once in a while. At first I couldn't wait for Verizon but now that I have it, I hate it. I always get dropped calls and low reception while everone else has all signal strength. My family has the LG VX6000 and the Motorola V265 and there reception is excellent. They could be standing right next to me and they could have all bars and I could have none. When I went to Verizon they just gave me a new phone of the same model and upgraded software, it still stinks.They plan to give me a new phone but Verizon's customer service is horrible.

Awful. However, full service 2 miles north in solsville. Go figure.

I live in warren rd apts, 1st floor. No reception at all in the building. Need to walk out side next to dumpster to make a call.

Shelter Island has put up a cell tower but apparently Verizon is not using it yet. I hear its supposed to be soon. Does anyone know when it will happen?

The LG and Samsung have no reception in my building or within 50 to 100 yards outside. I had swapped from a Nokia a few months ago to the LG, which was okay until late February when it started dropping most calls. I figured it had to be the phone. 3 phones and 10 wasted hours later, I today switched to the Samsung. With fingers crossed I turned on my phone when I reached my apartment. Entering calling area, leaving calling area, no reception... . Tomorrow I wield my sharpened axe and switch to AT&T or T-Mobile. Yes, they all suck, but some suck more than others depending on where you live. If you live in Jackson Heights and want to rely on your cell phone instead of a land line, then avoid the suppposedly best coverage in NYC. Terrible customer service is an understatement when it comes to Verizon. I believe they are trained in one thing: wasting your time, especially if you have any complaints... . Best of luck to all of you in cell phone hell.

It's impossible to use Verizon in my house!

I been getting a good reception in my house for 4 years. Yesterday and today I get vertually no reception. I just drove around until I got a reception and called Sprint and updated my phone. I got back home and it still doesn't work. It is breaking up severely.Some thing must have happened to the signal?

No reception at all in the back country. Hills and NYC reservoir make it pretty useless. Armonk main street has 5 bars however.

I have the absolutly worst reception at my home. I have free weekends and nights and never ever get to use them. Put a tower here! (We're near Besemer Hill Rd.and Slaterville Road, close toe Besemer Station).

I get 1 bar that fades in and out, thus if I happen to be able to make a call, it is usually dropped a few seconds later. I used to have T-Mobile and had excellant reception here and all the way to Texas. I don't know whether it's the phone I have or Cingular (AT&T) itself, but I'm paying a lot of money per month (more than I expected to) for two phones, and it is money wasted. I wonder if my reception is so bad because it is a camera phone, because my daughter's phone (motorolla, but with o camera) gets better reception than I do. I sent my phone out to Cingular for repair (no change), exchanged it for another (same model- they say they can't give you different model)- no change. Changed the tower address several times in vain. Finally I asked Cingular about reception in Rocky Point and was told there was none! Why do they sell you a plan in an area they know has bad to no reception??? Disgusted.
