No reception whatsoever on the first floor back in the year 2005 when I first bought my first phone ever, I was 15 years old. As soon as you enter the building, phone showed that there is no service. Since I had no service back then I decided to switch to AT&T at the time. Well recently about a month ago, I decided to buy the cheapest prepaid T-Mobile plan to see if this problem has been fixed and because I want to leave AT&T... But as of right now year 2011, the problem hasn't been fixed! A problem that has been happening since 2005! Called T-Mobile explained it to them, that it has been years that my building never gets service from their network. They said the signal was weak in my area but they couldn't guarantee that they would install a new tower just for me. And then people wonder why they're a failing business? 6 years and they never corrected the problem. No wonder they're going out of business! However I don't agree with AT&T buying T-Mobile as I want to leave AT&T. It is better that another company buys T-Mobile so that the consumers can have another GSM choice besides AT&T! If AT&T buys T-Mobile then AT&T will have a monopoly over GSM phones period! No matter how good their service is after they merge! STILL A MONOPOLY OF GSM!

In my apartment (facing Isham St.) there is no reception whatsoever, unless I put my phone right up against the window. Outside it seems to work better, although calls still get dropped. Anybody know what has good service in this neighborhood? My contract is up and I am ready to try anything at this point!

I have to go right to the Corner of St. Nickolas and 190th St. If I even step 3 steps away I get no service. It's ridiculous.

Phone says 2 bars, however, when calls are made, reception jumps to 0 and phone says call failed. No matter how many times I retry, calls don't go through. Calls come in, but once I answer the phone, I can't hear anything. T-Mobile sucks. I'll be switching as soon as my contract is up. If anyone reads with with good service in Inwood, please post. Thanks.

In the heart of Times Square. I get absolutely no 3G service even though iPad is showing 4-5 bars. It worked okay (but not great) up until about a monh ago. Then it just went dark in early Dec. No service whatsoever. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Absolutely useless. Absolutely pathetic for AT&T to. Of have service in Times Square, New York City. Anyone wanna trade a Verizon iPad for an AT&T iPad?

AT&T is horrible. My phone didn't ring when people call or register that I had voicemail until days after the call. When the phone did ring, I had a one-minute countdown until the reception went out and the person on the other end couldn't hear me. I use my cell phone as my primary phone to talk to clients; less than one month after buying the iPhone and starting a 2 year contract with AT&T, I had to cancel my plan (and they won't waive the cancellation fee just because of a silly thing like your phone not being capable of being used as a phone) and get a Verizon phone.

Don't get any reception at all in my entire apartment building. My roomates who have Cingular and Verizon get full bars. Sprint also works. TMobile also doesn't work in my office on 5th and 39th. I thought it was the phone but others with TMobile service don't get reception either. Am switching to Sprint, which also gets full service there.

I work in the Rockefeller area. I have like 1 or 2 bars consistently and the data service is about non-existent. I can't do anything with it. The guys sits next to me with Verizon had no issue. Apple needs to dump AT&T. It gives Apple a bad name.
