Before Suncom was taken over by T-Mobile I was able to get service if I forced my phone into cinglar. Now I am even unable to do that because customer service tells me suncom or T-Mobile lost the right to use these towers. Anyone in Dallas Cherryville or West Lincoln county would do best to not go with this carrier!
Alltel has not worked within 4 to 5 miles from my home in over two years. Occasionally my phone will get five bars for less then a minute and then be back to zero bars. Just enough time for a call to get through and then drop it before you can answer your phone, what a tease. I have tried three different phones and none have improved reception. Additionally, the phone has poor and / or no reception in buildings like the mall, wall-mart, etc., and there are dead spots everywhere. Do not recommend Alltel in the Elizabeth City Area.
Hwy. 62 from Alamance Church Rd.to Dona Rd. This entire area has very poor / no reception. Talked to Alltel several times about the problem, they can't / won't make a commitment to fixing it. It's not just Alletel, Verizon has the same problem.
Called AT&T was told a tower is scheduled for installation in late 2008. If you are going to Harrahs Casino and no not have Verizon - take walkie talkies to stay in tough with family members.

We have had Alltel for over 4 years now, and have basically no service at all in the Dallas area. We have to go outside to get any service at all, and then it is very spotty to say the least. Very poor service
