Used to have great reception, but Verizon dropped off the cell towers that are in my back yard. Called Verizon, but they will not improve service in this area. Switching to Alltel.

We have had Alltel for years and recently moved to the area. If we are on 421 we have no problem with reception. But at our house, we have no reception at all. It usually doesn't even ring and if it does you might as well not answer because you wouldn't be able to hold a conversation. It is very upsetting because there are towers in Lillington and the surrounding areas, but not at Keith Hills Golf Course or the surrounding community.

there has not been a reception for atleast several years -would like to know when cell towers go up- because Verizon beats every other service!

In the majority of Kill Devil Hills the best I get is poor coverage, but in a major portion surrounding 3rd Street, I get NO coverage. There is sporadic and inconsistent in all areas of the Outer Banks.

Verizon has the worst service in Greenville. They have not installed towers as promised. Don't buy this service

I have ZERO reception in my house. Phone will ring, but no conversation. Goes from no bars to occasionally 1 bar, but can't place or take call. I work in downtown Charlotte, and reception if fine there. Would like to change carriers but I don't know who has coverage here... .

Poor reception / dropped calls in and around Weaverville and Asheville. My wife and I are on family plans, and we can never talk one complete conversation due to call being dropped. This particular day, I was in MVP Barber shop, and I had no bars. I went outside, and still had no bars until I walked around 10 feet behind my car, where I got 1 bar. A lady inside the barber shop (waiting on her son) made a couple of calls on her US Cellular phone. The owner of the barber shop said he too had US cellular and had no issues. Like me, he used to have Verizon, but he had several dead spots. We had major dead spots with Verizon on 19 / 23 in the woodfin dip, and near North Buncombe Elementary school, but Cingular drops more calls than Verizon ever did. Guess I'll try US Cellular next.

When I am coming from the University area, I will am consistently dropped at this intersection before the handoff from one tower to the next is completed.

My calls are always dropped when I am coming from W.T. Harris Blvd.
