Reception Sucks, called Alltel to complain and because we signed a 2 year contract I guess we are screwed. Basically what the person on the other end told me in a polite way. They also took the time to tell me after we got the phones that this phone is primarily used in the cities it is not a good phone for rural markets. HMMMM, maybe they should of told somebody that, since they are the ones selling it seems that a little info might be nice.

USCC service is horrible at my house. I get 5 or 6 messages every weekend and I don't even know it til monday when I go to work in Elkin.

No reception in or near the Lowe's corporate campus. Spotty reception elsewhere in town.

This corrects the description below. Littleton, NC (27850) is 15 miles west, not east, of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

This has been the case for years. Before I can leave the Roanoke Rapids, NC city limits going west on NC 158, I lose all Cingular reception. Verizon works ok in the Littleton area, but Cingular, Sprint, and Nextel do not. It makes visiting that area difficult.

NO service in any of these areas, the only place I could use this service is in Ashville. A switch to Verizon was a awesome move, Verizon works all over the mountains of West NC

Just moved to Leland a month ago and get no service with Cingular - looks like after 7 years with them I will be switching -- can't get any service until I am halfway to Wilmington.

Buy Tracfones. I get 100% reception in Officer Housing and anywhere on Cherry Point Air Station with the Tracfone Motorola v60i. Those of you who live on Cherry Point, know that getting a signal is like next to impossible, but not with Tracfone. You would think a prepaid service would not have good signals! It's amazing.
