signed with AT&T last year. when Cingular bought them out they gave the nC market to Suncom. Since then I have had nothing but problems. I have a family plan so when they started the switch they only sent me 1 sim card for a plan with 2 phones. I had to wait a week for the second sim card. Then my phone would not unlock to their network. They told me I would have to drive an hour to the nearest suncom location to fix my phone. I finally talked to someone and they sent me a new phone. After waiting another week to get my new phone I caled to switch and my wife's phone would not unlock but since they did my phone first they couldn't switch it back so my wife didn't have a phone that would work for a week while we waited for a new phone for her. When we finally got the phones working I find out that the reason my wife's phone wouldn't work was because the lady entered the wrong simcard #. A week after being with Suncom my wife's phone starts acting up saying that the simcard isn't working. They finally let me out of my contract and am now searching for a reliable phone service.

Can Get great signal with 2 blocks either direction with my Sanyo 7300 and my wifes 8200. But service drops completely when we pull off of Pisgah View Rd. Into Canteberi Court. Nothing throughout whole complex. Same with a Samsung N-400. My brother has US Cellular and he talks fine at this location. They are also CDMA.

I have AT&T / Cingular / Suncom, but most of the time as of late I use something called USA 490 (which I don't even know what that means). I am looking for a new phone that I can get reception at my house and a carrier with a good reputation and a "cheap" plan!

With all the homes, and new ones built constantly, you'd think Cingular would stick up a cell site. they are the only major carrier in the area. No Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, T-Mobile, Nextel, within Wilkes county. Cingular is the only one. And you'd think they'd cover more than Hwy. 421, to get the jump on the others, before they start covering the county.

New House with no high-speed internet (no dsl or cable) and no cell coverage. 30 seconds up the road I can get Verizon network in a small 20 foot strip of road on top of hill. Comments from neighbors is that Verizon network (dig. or analog) can be hit at certain spots on the road. Absolutely forget anyone else's network.
