Even though I was assured a new tower would help, it did not. Occasionally if you happen to tilt your phone a certain way for a few seconds you may get 1 bar. I call that no coverage.

Cell Phones don't work in Perry County South of New Lexington, they are worthless pieces of junk. Doesn't matter who you have as a carrier.

Coverage here is terrible with 0 bars as the norm. Must twist head and / or go outside to even hear one word of conversation. From my other review, a tower here or even near Sliman Dodge on 58(Leavitt) could help solve this issue and the reception issue at Mullinax Ford area near new Turnpike interchange.

Coverage in the area along Liberty Ave. and inside the businesses on this road is abominable. 0 bars is the norm with little to no reception with crackling and breaking calls if you can even get a call out or in.

I keep hearing, "Be patient! More towers will be going in." I've been hearing that for years. The fact is that they have written off SE Ohio, and that will never change. 20 years from now, I still won't get a signal in my house. There's a new tower in Blue Rock State Forest for the emergency network, like 911. Would Verizon even think of doing a piggyback arangement with them? NO. Not now, not ever. You can only really use the phone in Zanesville, other major cities, or on the expressway. It doesn't even work in Duncan Falls... and it never will. Don't sign up with them... if you actually want to be able to make and receive calls. If you want camera phones, games, internet access... when you are in a city... you might like it. But if you want a phone you can actually use in SE Ohio, it's a lost cause. We only get the extended network analog signal, if we get anything, and it is useless.

Alltel does not, and will not have coverage in Ohio other than in the Greater Cleveland to Greater Canton areas. Once you go southwest of Wayne county they DO NOT EXIST! They refuse to let us out of our plan without paying $200 for each phone.

I have just returned from Puerto Rico, where I had full coverage wherever I was in the country--mountains, seashore, wherever. It's hard to understand why there is such good coverage in a less developed country and the coverage here in the states is so spotty, even close to a major interstate. There are many "dead" spots in the Jamestown / Cedarville area, even though Verizon probably has more customers than any other carrier. Many of us are thinking of switching to Cingular with our next contract. Cingular doesn't seem to have a problem with covering our area.
