had an AT&T phone and a virgin phone - got decent reception,at least all my calls made it through and were never dropped. changed to T-MOBILE and can't get a single bar,(even though their map says I should have good reception) I have had at least a dozen very frustrating calls with them and nothing has been done. they act like they could care less, since I bought the phone off of ebay i'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work T_MOBILE STINKS!
I live in Akron and ever since AT&T bought Cingular, I've had nothing but problems with reception! Darrow Rd / Rt 91 is TERRIBLE! So is where I work at the corner of 91 and Highland. I get dropped calls or no reception EVERY SINGLE DAY! I can't talk on my breaks cause it gets too frustrating to have 3 dropped calls in 15 min or less! Same happens to and from work. Especially in front of the fireworks factory on Darrow. There's about a mile or 2 that I can't get signals or get dropped calls, but it's like that all up and down Darrow road MANY MANY MANY places! Also at home, Goodyear Heights area, dropped calls ALL the time, just sitting on my couch. Bars on my phone, no matter where I am or traveling, always constantly change from Zero to 5. NEVER has been consistently any one bar and I can just be in one place not moving at all. Is it the phone or the service, that is my question at this point. I've read so many good and bad about EVERY single company including Verizon! Just as many good reviews as bad about them and ALOT of billing issues. SO, my contract with AT&T is almost up and I was going to switch, but it doesn't seem like I'd get any better reception necessarily and I certainly don't want billing errors! So, I'll probably stay and hope it gets better. No guarantees with any cell company. Still wonder if what phones we use make a difference. Maybe there's just a few phones out there that are really worth anything.
