No reception in home an very poor outside of home

Maybe its good that the teens' phone's don't ring in class, but I get nothing in the building - my phone usually dies within an hour or so unless I plug it in or turn it off. Dismal. What am I paying for again?

I have tried 3 differnt phones Samsung 225, Nokia 6610, and the latest 6010. All with the same results. No signal. Yet my builder has Nextel and it work, Verizon works and I heard Sprint works. I don't know, maybe I'll try an external antenna next.

Terrible reception, from portland clear out past Oregon City, dropped calls, poor reception, fading in and out, also dead areas around Carus to Oregon City

AT&T Wireless (now Cingular) has improved its GSM coverage in Medford over the past few months (from horrible to fair). Rural areas - even those that have substantial populations are still not covered. Only TDMA works in outlying areas... although even that is weak and spotty.

I had 2-3 bars at this location when I first purchased the phone, after Jan 2005... no signal.

Right there as you turn left onto Willamette from Chataqua... Boom! Zero reception! I have to alter my route and drive up Lombard, reception is not great there either.

Poor (one bar) to "no service" in Washington Square Mall and Target just up the hill. But I go to Taco Bell or the Chevron gas station in that same area, full signal. I'm thinking it's the hotel that is blocking the signals to Target and the Mall. I've been meaning to stop at the AT&T / Cingular kiosk at the mall and see what signal strength their phones show. I'm guessing they are where they are because it's the only sweet spot in the mall. The engineers need to look at this area and design better coverage. A lot of communication goes on in department stores and malls.

No reception in Mountain Park, Lake Oswego... across from PCC Sylvania. AT&T sucks. Many days and nights of frustration. If I'm lucky I will get to speak to somebody for about 2 minutes without be disconnected (at thats on a GOOD day). People try to call me and my phone says "This Phone Number Is No Longer In Service" to them, when they were just talking to me! Phone cuts off every minute. I spend far more time trying to reconnect and call back than I do speaking to my friends. Even at work in Tualatin I barely manage to a get a bar or two.

I work downtown Portland on the top floor of a building along SW 6th Ave. Starting September 1st 2004, I get dropped calls every day receiving and sending calls from within the building where I work. Middle of conversation and suddenly call is dropped. Meter reads 3 bars; yet call is dropped. Other times, I get 1-2 bars then jumps to 4-5 bars then back to 0 bars (and "no reception" message) - all within the same minute. But if I go outside the building, reception is OK - 3-4 bars. A few dropped calls. The first 45-days, reception was great. No problems. No dropped calls at all. Indoors or outdoors. But starting September 1st 2004, something changed on AT&T Wireless' GSM. Brand new Motorola T721 phone in mid-July 2004. I have purchased a new battery (on AT&T Wireless Customer Care recommendation). Phone still drops calls from inside the office where I work. And I do charge phone overnight and then use battery until drained. Then, recharge overnight. (Normally, Fridays the battery is low; so Friday nights, I charge battery overnight and begin anew Saturday)
