I've never had so many problems with reception... lack of reception! I live in Pittsburgh, but drive back home to The Scottdale area alot and travel frequently to Uniontown, PA and the Cumberland, MD areas. I have absolutely NO reception in those areas at all. Scary thought since I travel solo all the time. I will be switching to Verizon or Cingular in a few months when my plan expires with T-Mobile. My mother uses a Trac-phone from her house in Regantown, and has absolutely no problems. I just don't understand. :-(

I have now tried two different Razr phones and I cant get any reception inside or outside my home. Past the train tracks toward Trenton, service is managable, but heading towards the highway, service is terrible. I am incredibly disappointed in the Cingular promise of "more bars, in more places".

Central City and Cairnbrook / From Approx 1 Mile North of Rt 30 (on Rt 160) To 4 intersection, Central City, PA 15926 |
Thu Aug 11, 2005 |
I have been trying to advise Verison but get no clear answers. The store in Johnstown advised to call Customer Service. Customer Service advised to submit e-mails. Response to e-mails were generic. Cust Serv transfered to the calls to Tech Service (advised closest Verizon towers were along I-70 and could reach 15926) and Real Estate Dept (no response). Additional e-mails advised that FCC had not granter Verizon a licenese to provide service in Area Code 15926(?) FCC advised that Verison does have a licenese for 15926. Continued calls to Customer Service and Tech Service have got nowhere. Tech Service finally said it is an issue that need to be presented to Verizons Real Estate Department. The contact provided at the Real Estate Departmment does not answer and you have to leave a voice message. Of course on one returns your telephone call. Verizon may be working for you but not for anyone in Central City, Cairnbrook, PA or Area Code 15926.

Only occasionally 1 bar. Generally terrible service in the Titusville area, except within city limits. Verizon is superior in remote areas. I will definately switch to Verizon ASAP.

Service sucks- other than downtown Honesdale or next to one of the few towers, service is almost non- existant- If you're driving you can tell when you;ve left Wayne or pike county beicase all of a sudeen the service improves markedly. I have no idea how Verizon puts up with Cellular One as a roaming supplier...

I rated the reception as (0). My reason for such is that most times my phone shows, no service, or, searching for network. The fees should come down all around the board. This is fraud in the hundreds of billions.

Rt. 3 and 926, Newtown Square, PA 19073 |
Wed Aug 03, 2005 |
At my place of work, reception is poor for many carriers. However, I literally need to drive 15 miles before I even think of making a phone call. Down most of Route 3 in the Newtown Square area, reception is nil. Going north on 476 towards the Turnpike, I get little to no reception in most spots. It's really quite disturbing to not get reliable reception during an entire 25 minutes of my drive to / from work. This is often when I need it most!
