Rt.6 Auto Body To Black Walnut, Meshoppen, PA 18630 Tue May 09, 2006

No signal from Rt.6 Auto body in Meshoppen until you pick up the Laceyville tower in Black Walnut. Meshoppen now has a tower that only services Nextel users.

Service in Hawthorne is crap. Rt 28 service is crappy too. There is some service in New Bethlehem and Summerville, but everywhere else along this 30 mile stretch is without coverage.

Brookville Hospital / Off Route 28 intersection, Brookville, PA 15825 Sat Apr 29, 2006

I agree the reception is horrible with GSM, but it was worse with the old digital. The problem is not fully Cell 1s fault. The Brookville Historical Society has been harassing the cell companies for the last 5 years or so. I know because my husband is a member and their board of directors put a stop to a tower that was planned to be put up in town. It would have been a rooftop antenna, so it would have been hidden well, but they were dead against it. So part of this problem may be the Brookville Historical Society's fault. But other than that, coverage is horrible elsewhere too. Route 28 is a major route for both car and truck traffic. Sketchy coverage from Brookville to New Bethlehem, then no coverage to Kittanning. No coverage up Route 36 until you reach Marienville, then the coverage up there is a real joke. I think they have about a 1 / 2 mile of coverage, then it's gone again. No coverage in Cook's Forest State Park. And I-80 and I-79 are horrible. Yes there is coverage on I-80 and I-79, but you need to pull over to talk or the call will keep dropping. Cell 1, get your act together.

Jefferson County Courthouse / Pickering St. intersection, Brookville, PA 15825 Wed Apr 26, 2006

Reception at the Jefferson County Courthouse is crap, both inside and out. No reception in the annex across the street either. In fact, coverage isn't very great anywhere in town.

Jenks Street / Valley Ave. / Brookville Library intersection, Brookville, PA 15825 Mon Apr 24, 2006

No reception at the library. Cellular One deceives their customers by falsely showing Brookville on the coverage map. Call Cellular One and complain, and they respond by saying that they have a "better" coverage map on their computers that ONLY the customer service reps have access to, and it shows that Brookville has little to zero coverage so there is nothing they can do. What kind of crap is that? A secret coverage map!
