Cingular works on Sam's Point Rd approx. 3 miles from Springfield Rd., at Springfield Rd no reception, only grayed out bars - "EMERGENCY Calls only"

Tried many times to get help from Alltel, but I've gotten nothings. I tried to cancel my service without penalty because without reception the phone is no good to me, again no help. As soon as my comtract is up I will find a new service.

We were told that once Verizon acquired the Cingular 1 network all would be perfect. Hah! No way. Not even 1 bar most times. Funny thing is sometimes an Altell tower will come in for a few seconds. Bad deal with Verizon.

To be the so-called "giant" of the industry, the rural coverage is terrible. Don't get Nextel if you plan on working or traveling away from major cities or interstates.

No reception at all!

Have an older LG phone and a brand new Razr V3m. With the older LG phone, standing inside my house right in front of the door, I can move 1ft in any direction and it will say I'm leaving my service area. Both phones have almost no service inside and not really much better outside in the front yard. I can be inside and holding my Verizon phone in one hand and my Nextel in the other and the Verizon will have no bars and the Nextel will have 3-4 bars.

I wish I could think of some choice comments for how bad my cell phone reception is. My contract with Verizon will expire 9 / 4 / 06. Hallaluyah! I can't even get reception in the middle of Walmart, Lowes, restaurants, etc. (all within a stone's throw of I-85) My phone reads "no service". Verizon customer service is a joke. I live about 5 miles out in the country. I can get static there, especially if I put the phone in the kitchen window. I am going to try Alltell, there's no way they can be worse. My advice, don't use Verizon! I let you know later about Alltell.

I get absolutely no reception at my home. I have to walk outside to the road to get even one bar and then it's in and out service. Service is fine while in Columbia. I absolutely loathe Verizon Wireless, they are crooks from the executives down to the csr's. The customer service is rude and uneducated. Swithced to SunCom and LOVE it.
