T-Mobile stinks. The reception is HORRIBLE! I have to go outside to send or receive, and then I only have one bar. I constantly drop calls or they person on the other end just slowly drifts off into oblivion. The service reps are rude and unresponsive. I have called to complain about the reception or ask for assistance, of course the call was dropped and I was not called back, so if I called them back I was forced to re-state my problem. My contract is up the first of next month and I am returning to Alltel and a Nokia.

Local Verizon cell phone provides no service here. However my Canadian serviced Cell phone from Toronto works just fine here, borrowing a signal from the Cingular local provider - crazy!

I drop calls each time I am in this area, as does the rest of my family with the same phone. Its right at the bridge b / w counties-in front of The Care Center and the matress store place. Also inside the Bilo on Hwy. 153. Those of us with Alltel are not able to walk more than 6 feet in the store with out dropping calls but I will see others all the way in the back of the store on their phones. Is our network scared of the inside of Bilo?

I recently went up to buy property. I went from Bamberg to Blackville to Barnwell to Aiken. With the exception of a brief moment in Aiken, I had ZERO reception the entire time I was there! Nextel blows. I am switching to Alltel when I finally move up there. They seem to have the only reliable service coast to coast!

The Cingular / ATT merger has meant absolutely nothing for Cingular customers in SC. Even though AT&T had substantial 800 MHz GSM network and infrastructure here Cingular either didn't buy it or else let SunCom buy it in this state. Cingular apparently will not contract with Suncom so that customers here will have "more bars in more places". Even if you have a dual band phone, it is of no benefit whatsoever if you live in this state. You only have access to the very poorly performing 1.9 GSM Cingular network. It is bad business ethics for Cingular to run those ads for "more bars in more places' in this state because it is clearly misleading to potential customers. Yet on one seems to realize that Cingular is doing this. It simply unbelievable. Wireless customers are victimized because they don't understand the various wireless technologies. I have switched to one of the 800 MHz CDMA providers. The difference in signal strength is unbelievable, and the attitude of customer service is wonderful. I don't see how Cingular gets away with the things it does. I hope more Cingular customers in SC will wake up and realize that all this talk about the meger (more bars in more places) means nothing for customers based in SC. Is is indeed sad when a large wireless provider can get away with this.
