There is absolutely no service once you pass Montana and Desert Meadows. That sucks for me but if you live in the city there's no problem.(except that the phones aren't all that) One really cool thing is that the reception in Juarez is usually pretty good, for those who go often.

I cannot get a signal at my apartment complex with Sprint. Then I got a strange roaming message that said I could only make a call if I entered a credit card number. I called Sprint and they told me that I should have service. I said that, yes, I should, but I do not. The only help I got from them was to go to a window or make sure I'm on the top floor! Not very convenient if I'm trying to work at my computer or be on a conference call. Luckily, thankfully, and happily my contract is up and I can switch to another service provider.

Although Virgin (had) a great prepaid deal (their rates have changed, although I'm still under the old plan), the reception is non-existent at home. Being that we're not all that far from I-45, I was surprised. I've also had a problem in certain commercial buildings in the Galleria area which is another place you'd expect good service. (I've noticed they don't offer a map showing their coverage area.) If you're on the road, especially major roads or freeways, there's no problems. Even though I will probably pay somewhat more, I'll probably be switching to another prepaid service so I can use it at home and because Virgin apparently doesn't offer free minutes with others on their plan.

In Feb. 2007 I could get no signal (or a very weak analog signal) anywhere in the park. In Feb of 2006 I could get a signal (2-3 bars) near Panther Junction and at the overlook at the south end of the Old Ore Road.

Home on HP Road, no reception but in higher elevated orchard get 1 bar. Useless at home and most other places in this area. Once you get a good signal, pull off road immediately to talk.
