I had T-Mobile in Framingham, Ma and have no bars here in Burlington area. T-Mobile admits they have no service here but will not let me out of my contract. Anyone want a non-floaty toy? Does anyone get good service? Unicell used to be okay.
Verizon has no reception from Concord, VT all the way to Lancaster, NH. They have no customer service there either. I finally cancelled my contract and have to pay the early termination fee because Verizon is relentless in getting their money at the expense of losing a "customer." As I told them, I was not a "customer" because if I was, I would have recieved something for the money I gave them each month. Customer service ALWAYS tried to return my calls by calling my cell phone. If I went to St. J, I would get their very old message. Now that I owe them the early termination fee and cancelled my contract, the collections department for the termination fee and the "retention department" call me at home!
Heard that Verizon installed a new tower at top of Stratton Mtn by Gondola station in Jan2009. Found reception poor to 0 at our condo and only good if you are at the village facing the front of mtn. I tried an AT&T Go Phone which was a Nokia-6085 that had 3-bars reception where the Verizon Razr had 0. I just purchased the Femtocell network extender (avail Feb2009) to see if this will work with Verizon... the Verizon folks tell me that it will work, but dont know if this is sales. If it doesnt, I may switch to AT&T. I also heard that the Razr is one of the worst phones to pick up weak signals and that LG is the best for Verizon. Heard from AT&T that Nokia (quad band) is best for AT&T. Any experience you can share is welcomed.
It is getting really annoying leaving Brattleboro and not getting reception when other cellphones are. One of the most busiest roads in the winter from tourist and they cant even call anyone from a cellphone. Let alone is something happens if sometime happens at their home or someone dies. How would they know? I Just wish UScellular would try their best to get service in Newfane / Townshend

People here and elsewhere claim that Unicel and Nokia are good, but I get no bars in my office with Unicel and a Nokia 6085h, whereas my officemate has no problems making calls with a cheapo Jitterbug service and phone. I think a lot has to do with what tower your service connects to.
Why is there no service available for cell phone in the whole state of Vt. Is there ever going to be.? I purchased one in La and it worked fine until I arrived in Vt, now it becomes a toy. Thank you so much AT&T. Leon
We have zero reception on either of our GSM phones. From checking provider coverage maps, it seems absolutely nobody provides cell service in this area, even the ones that focus on service to less populated areas. Barre and Montpelier are not that far off, but due to mountains the coverage is entirely blocked - you have to drive miles before getting any signal at all.
