At 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, I tried my new Cingular GSM phone at my home location. No service. Error message said "“No network coverage” with a Stop sign Or it says “Calling the number” but nothing happens. And the symbol at the bottom left of the screen is the antenna symbol with no bars. The approximate geographic coordinates of our home are 38o 54’ 25” North; 77 22’ 15” West. Why isn’t the coverage available?

Carrier - nTelos. No reception when you enter Bordeaux Court (Foxfire) area. Problem reported to N-telos several times and was told that I live in a dead zone and asked if I havea tower in that area. Company acts as if this is my problem (as if I knew there was a dead zone when they sold me the phone), and do not want to address problem or even give credit for drop calls. Customer Service at the Norfolk Military Crossing branch stinks to say the least. All they want to do is argue with you the customer. Had no such problems with reception when we had Verizon. My wife has Alltel and she has no problem using the phone on Bordeaux Court or in the house. Three other friends also are experiencing the same problems within areas adjacent to where I live. It is sad that this company n-Telos keep selling people phone when they know that their reception is bad in this area. This constitutes fraud and deception and I intent to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

I have no reception at all in my house or in my yard. I don't even bother to cut my phone on in this location. Friends who have Verizon have no trouble with recieving or making calls.

West of Rolling Rd.on the Fairfax County Pkwy. is a huge deadzone. The closest AT&T / Cingular towers appear to be in Newington and Burke so this geographically valley has no service. It's a real pain since I live and work in this area and the federal government issued cell phones are through AT&T / Cingular.

Nextel needs to dramatically improve it's reception / transmission capability throughout Arlington County. Barton St.is very bad with zero reception if it's the least bit overcast from Pershing to Clarendon Blvd.
