I have had Sun Com and switched to Verizon a few years ago. There is no cell service in Southwest VA once you leave Gate City. I own a business in Gate City and if I try to get my voice mail on my day off I have to drive to Gate City to try to get a signal. I have emailed the Better Business Bureau and they say they can't do anything unless they get more complaints! If your are sruck in a contract with no service contact the BBB! I have also contacted the FCC and not heard back yet. I think if we are going to have cell service in SWVA we need to contact our congressman or file a class action law suit. Verizon locks you into a contract and then drops the lease on the towers near you. The should have to pay you!

My house is a complete dead zone - 0 bars, "no service" message, all the time. But service is perfect in the front yard. Can't wait for Apple to come out with an iPhone for Verizon! I'm in Woodbridge, Marumsco Village, a few hundred feet off 95, about 2 miles south of the 123 exit, where the water tower used to be.

No servive. Seems to be a serious problem with AT&T no matter where in the U.S. we travel. TV commercial about best cellphone coverage in america simply isnt true It is the worst coverage

AT&T really needs to cover Jonesville, Pennington, and Dryden ASAP. I have an iPhone and an iPad and am very disappointed that I can't use their 3G or Edge abilities! I Mean really AT&T, you should at least cover VA! We are stuck with Verizon and Alltel's CDMA towers when we need GSM!

AT&T has no wireless coverage in or near Goshen, VA, where on the outskirts of town there is a popular campground for boy scouts. There is plenty of Verizon coverage, however - folks checking weather maps and calling home every night. Shame on AT&T - a missed business opportunity, and a safety problem too, since there are lots of hikers and swimmers in the area that could use an emergency phone back up.

AT&T in Downtown Charlottesville is unusable. I have been a customer of ACS analog on the Kenai Peninsula, cheapo no-name SIM cards in Europe, and Claro and Movistar in Nicaragua and Peru; no experience was worse than what I'm going through now, Summer 2010. My phone just doesn't work at all for days at a time. This has been a problem for weeks. Every time I reach customer support they say a technician will be at the tower at 5am to fix everything. Load of crap. F that s. DO NOT come to Cville without Verizon.

I wished we could get Sprint towers. Alot of the prepaid services works off of Sprint towers and Wise Co doen't have any Sprint towers! I have a Blackberry and the only thing I could do was text! I couldnt use BBM, internet or anything! I would even go weeks without getting texts! It sucked! I'm using a prepaid now but I would love to have sprint!

Unbelievably bad reception. What could the reason for such bad reception be in such place in the USA? This is so late 90s!

My phone automatically goes to voice mail and is continuously searching so the battery quickly goes dead. I have to drive around the neighborhood to find a one-bar area. I have never had a dead zone with this phone in any other area. Those with Verizon have no problems in this neighborhood.
