that info must be right! i've seen a bobcat front-end loader on the church property next to a pile of new gravel. looks like they are starting to clear trees for a small driveway to the left of the church buildings. is this for the access road to the new cell site that Verizon is putting up there? I dunno, maybe? hope so! this is the small korean church wooded lot in the 8600 block of pohick, made up of a small brick church and lots of temporary trailer classrooms.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER get a Sprint phone period. Not only does 99.9% of my calls drop- it won't work anywhere! I am so frustrated. I even went to the store and got a cell tower update- to my phone (which amazingly took about 3 seconds LoL) and voila! No service still! Buyer Beware! Sprint only works in the Sprint stores. Oh yeah, I used to work in Hampton Towne Center, which was a 12 story building WITH a Sprint tower on top of the thing- No Service! I hope I have made my point...

I can non get any signal at my hone. Less than a mile away, I have 3 bars, not great, but adequate. The only way I can get any signal near my house is to use mt climbing tree stand and get at least 15 feet up a tree. Other than at home, Sprint has worked well for me, and I have yet to find any carrier that has service to my home.

Major Industrial Park for the Suffolk Area... When I visit this area my fully-charged cell battery runs out searching for a signal.

Good News Update, Late May 2007: Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus! The Fairfax County DPWES staff has *finally* approved almost ALL required permits for the NEW Verizon Wireless-named "CHAPEL ACRES" cell site. Construction is expected to begin soon, per the Miss Utility Of Virginia web site ticket listings. Locals should start seeing actual construction equipment on the Calvary KBC property soon, to make way for the camo "tree pole" (120'), base station hut, and service road. If all goes as planned, this long-overdue cell site may be in service and on-the-air by the early Autumn months(??) So, if you see a freakishly-tall fake tree rising above the treeline behind the new St. Raymond of Penafort RC Church, you'll know that a good signal is not far behind. To all of those far-too-patient-than-I-am folks in Newington Forest, Creekside, Lakes Mercer and Huntsman, Middle Creek, Glenwood Manor, Lakewood Hills, etc., your wait is almost over. We have many friends who live in this large Middle Valley dead spot and our phones never work when we visit them. Some of these people have waiting almost 2 decades to get Verizon Wireless to place a tower here. Lots of letters written to politicians, HOA's, regulators, utility company execs, etc. Hope you long-suffering Springfield residents can finally get a signal down that way. Good luck! Guess if you lived in Great Falls, you would have had micro-cells placed in 1996. LOL!

Reception is poor in the area, but drops to nothing as soon as I turn into my sub-division (Kingsbrooke). If I am lucky enough to have a connection while at the light to turn onto Worthington, as soon as I make that turn, the call is dropped, like flipping a switch.

Verizon is awful,they suck,and everything else you could say bad about them,I ordered a new LG chocolate and asked them if I would have coverage,and I dont even have any bars at all 0,I called them and called them about the problem,im paying money for nothing,and signed a 2 year contract,its bullcrap,they need to do something about than trying to make money from being a crappy service provider.We need a cell phone tower and coverage here badly,id be happy to get at least 2 bars instead of 0,they are gonna lose a lot of their customers.

Very disappointing, no reception in Camp / Sugar Grove area, not even with new phone (with most up to date technology to quote US Cellular rep). Most other places, service is good!

Alltel, No reception at all. Asked local said US Celluar is the only carrier in the valley

phone will not work around the house--maybe 1 out of 15 times outside. inside, never. cancelled service.
