My wife had a flat tire on Newman Road, and her calls for help went through but were impossible to understand. A man nearby let her use his Sprint phone which had full signal strength. We are switching.

Can get no service in or outside of my townhouse. using this website I see Cingular has 4 antennas very close to my house I will be switching. My sister has Sprint and has the same problems
I cant believe just off in the woods there is a tower here, yet as soon as I hit this junction and beyond it for a mile or so I get nothing but a message telling me my signal has faded. My bud goes home the same way and his Nextel also does the same thing. After a mile or so towards Purcellville the phone will kick on to a roam. Watch those roaming charges!

As with my Verizon 1xEVDO card, My Sprint PPC-6700 gets ZERO signal unless connected to an external antenna and signal amp.. then it gets 2 bars, but the signal drops make it next to impossible to use for anything more than txt messages.

No reception with the 1xEVDO card alone. I get 2 bars (-90db) with a signal booster AND an external antenna, but I still only get flaky at best 1xRTT signal.

My Samsung on Verizon is useless on the mountain. It is constantly changing service areas but never gets a signal. I can use it at the parking area near 601 and Rt 7 but have to stay in the lot. I had a contractor with T-Mobile who uses his phone all over the mountain. Not sure what model phone he had.
