Reception moves between 0 and 2 bars continuously so even if a call may come in on 2 it's lost before long. Verizon's remedy is to sell us yet another "better" phone (we've gone through three different phones already), and another "better" plan, resulting in a longer (and for Verizon "better") contract. Similar problems when traveling, but comparable with T-Mobile and Sprint in my experience. Verizon customer service is good, I'll give them that, but quality of reception is simply unacceptable in this area of Seattle and we're junking Verizon first chance we get.

Ignorantly I switched from a Tri-mode phone to an all digital phone when I took advantage of my new every two option in November. Since my switch I've had ZERO bars anywhere around my home office, when before this was a non-issue. Every call drops within seconds of taking the call, and when I attempt to call out I'm denied as the phone only detects the Sprint network. I've had the phone flashed and recently replaced to no avail. For business reasons I want to get a Treo, however Verizon insists I pay full retail ($520) so I'm thinking that paying the $175 cancellation fee and then signing up with Cingular may be my best option, as I will save $$ on the phone + Cingular has pretty stellar coverage in West Seattle.

Inside our building and for a 2 block circle around, I get 0 bars. The rest of the city I get 4 or 5. No help whatsoever from Verizon tech support.

i thought I had problems with Sprint from dropped calls to billing problems, i'm now with Cingular and it SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS! I can NEVER carry a conversation without getting dropped after a few minutes of conversation, it almost doesn't matter where i'm at on I-5 or 512 anywhere, I drop more calls than I need to make. the only decent thing about Cingular is the billing, haven't had any problems with billing and over charging... .i'm not sure if it's my phone that's the problem or what but if something doesn't change soon... .i'm throughing my phone out the window.

I live in the Mt.Vernon Stanwood area but work in Everett and I have a hard time with calls being dropped constantly. I find that since Cingular has joined AT&T that their coverage has gotten worse than ever. My husband has had AT&T for years and talked me into getting them which I did and I have been sorry ever since. I got better coverage when I had Verizon. I have called and complained but they say there is nothing they can do. I also found out that when Cingular joined AT&T that some of AT&T's towers were sold so that explains our poor coverage which was not great before but is even worse now. My husband whom was an avid believer of AT&T is now considering changes because of so many ares wher ehe either looses a call or no coverage at all. My phones menu keeps changing and now it won't ring at all. The ringer is set for on but when I checked the menu it had changed quite a bit why they would do that is beyond me but I am out of patience with AT&T and I am looking for a different wireless company I will probably go back with Verizon.
