We just bought a house in Beachcrest (Beverly Dr. NE) in Lacey, WA. We signed up for a two year contract with Cingular wireless and have been very happy with the reception while we lived in an apartment in Tumwater, WA. Now we find out we have NO reception at our new house. There is Verizon reception, but not Cingular. Now what do we do?

i was told when I switched service from T-Mobile to qwest that I would receive better reception. true, for within the city of seattle, BUT I went to vancouver, bc this weekend and had NO service at all. even T-Mobile had service in vancouver. i would never have service with these companies again! the back falls off the Kyocera and the battery falls out. qwest is now charging me 60 dollars to leave the contract after they told me their service would work in canada. b.s.

Sprint reception out here is pretty much non-existent. They also have bad reception on the Seattle side, particulalry in West Seattle and Queene Anne. I finally had enough of dropped calls and spotty service. I switched to Verizon and the reception is ten times better!

After Cingular bought AT&T, they apparently (by own technical service admission) decomissioned several TDMA antennas. Formerly had excellent reception at my home in Woodinville, now have 1 bar or NO RECEPTION (MOST OF THE TIME!)... even in a 1 mile radius around my house. This is true for my wife's Nokia phone also. Cingular at first suggested it might be okay for me to just accept no coverage at home (it's only at home that you don't have coverage after all!)... then proposed switching to a much costlier GSM phone and plan. I told them I'd be shopping around (their customer service didn't seem too helpful at this point... and they clearly didn't care that they had essentially "dropped me as a customer" without warning).

My phone says that I have full service in this area, but as soon as I place and a call or answer one, it says the call has been dropped. It says leaving and entering service area and switches betwen the two constantly. The phone doesn't work at all.

110th and Sand Point, Seattle, WA 98125 Thu Feb 03, 2005

Never any reception in my house. Sometimes got one bar when I crossed the street towards the water. sometimes I had to walk a block or so to get any reception. Service worked great elsewhere in seattle.
