RARELY I will receive a text message in front of my house, otherwise I have no reception where I live. They have JUST built a tower by the cut-off road but I don't think it is quite on yet. I am hoping it is able to send signal to Verizon users. The top light lights up the whole valley.

I have just moved up here to Ariel WA. I want to upgrade my phone with the new Samsung Captivate, but not sere if it would make a difference being I don't even have reception up here, sometimes if I go out side on the south side of the home "hot spot" I can call out. Is there a proposed tower coming in this aria, or should I just not spend my money, or maybe switch svc, being my contract is now past the 2 year point. AT&T has been good company, but what good is it if I cant make a call.

Minnesota St., Rainier, WA 98576 Tue Aug 10, 2010

Even according to their coverage map Rainier has NO coverage. I had the opportunity to get on my brother's plan who is an employee of T-Mobile and couldn't do it cause they have nothing here! The only time anyone gets anything at my house is when they hook up to my wireless internet. Whats the point of a cell phone if you can't use it without wireless internet?!?!

Minnesota St., Rainier, WA 98576 Tue Aug 10, 2010

I fought with Verizon for a year before they admitted they have a well known service issue here despite what their coverage map shows on their website. They finally agreed they have no coverage right here in downtown Rainier and let me out of my contract for free. They have no future plans to fix it either.

I go to this area quite frequently to visit family and I get absolutely no service once I get away from the freeway, 60 miles away. I bought this phone hoping to be able to retrieve my emails while visiting as my mom doesn't own a computer. No such luck, may move to Verizon as they have signals there.

There is a dead spot at this location. move a quarter of a mile either way and you get great reception. It is the only dead spot I have found. Otherwise, the signal strength elsewhere is strong.
