Old Dollar Bar Beach Rd. / Hwy. 20 intersection, Republic, WA 99166 Tue Feb 10, 2009

We put Verizon in in Oct. and they added so many "extra costs" that we never asked for. We took "Wire maintenance" off and then changed plans because the one we have wasn't suitable to our needs. During Christmas, we made an international call and they changed us $3.28 cents a minute!, even though they have an international plan that is only.7cents a minute and $3 a month. I called to complain and they said we should have signed up for the plan. I said don't ya think we would have if someone had told us that we would be charge $3.28 a minute! No one ever gave us their international rates and this was our first call. The total was $101.15! for a 35 minute call to England. (I pay 4 cents with "Ooma" here in the Seattle Area) I asked him to cut THE ONE CALL in half and he wouldn't. We have a business acct. (Over 10 years with them) and 2 resident lines with Verizon. I'm now going to cancel the business and residential, but unfortunately we have no other phone options in Curlew.! I'm thinking about contacting "GET JESSE" to see what Verizon has to say to the news media. In these tough economic times, businesses should be more understanding and receptive. (AND I WAITED 50 MINS ON HOLD FOR THIS SUPERVISOR TOO) In the meantime, I've found another long distance company that can provide my long distance calls in Curlew- It is "Total Call" and they charge 4 cents a minute! Now if I could only get away from Verizon completely. BUYER BEWARE AND ASK EVERY QUESTION IMAGINABLE... ... ... ... ..BECAUSE THEY CERTAINLY WON'T OFFER THE REQUIRED INFORMATION

We're located near Lake Symington and there is no reception - when I called the trouble desk, I learned we were the lucky winners of being in the exact middle of a dead zone!

Lewis River / Cougar, WA intersection, Cougar, WA 98616 Mon Jan 19, 2009

There is one little area about 1 mile east of Cougar, Wa that people seem to get cell phone reception. You always see people pulled over there to use their phones. This is a popular drive for people visiting Mount Saint Helens, you would think there would be better cell phone coverage from any of the cell phone providers.

Mount Woolard, Eastsound, WA 98245 Sun Nov 30, 2008

AT&T generally unavailable across Orcas Island. Nothing here at our home. A little in Eastsound, depending--the Wash Fed parking lot is decent. No carrier has decent coverage on the island. The County is working to changge the NIMBY cell tower rules; hope this means cell companies improve this situation soon.

Curlew Lake, Republic, WA 99166 Sun Nov 16, 2008

Coverage for the Curlew Lake area is non-exsistant. I have cell phone and internet access through Verizon but as they are no use to me in that area, I'm considering dumping the services. I will now have to buy land line phone services and another internet provider that serves the area. Poo-Poo on Verizon's vast coverage advertisement! What's that line they use, "We Have You Covered"??
