We have a 2 year contract with Verizon, we will be dropping it at the end of the contract since the phones are useless out here. We can't get a signal until we get into Republic which is a 40 minute drive away.
No signal at home on either of our Verizon phones. Despite a month of BS stories -- like "we'll have a new tower up and operating real near your house in just a few days," Verizon plans to have a tech come out and verify that we have no signal. They say that "we've had no complaints about service on Bainbridge." Like, helloooo!

We had fair reception when we switched to Verizon 4 to 5 years ago but they apparently aimed the tower in a different direction and so we have had no reception for the last several years. When our contract is up we are switching as all Verizon will do is tell us we are in a poor reception area and they have no plans to do anything about it. On Hwy. 101 1 / 2 mile to the north of us there is good reception.
reception drops 5 miles west of Joyce and doesn't come back until 2 miles east of Neah Bay. Verizon and ATT both assured me that coverage was good all along the strait of Juan de Fuca. ATT drops 5 miles west of Joyce and never picks back up.
I want to get a new Apple phone and understand that you have to use AT&T service. Does anyone have any experience with this carrier on Bainbridge Island? Do you know if the 3G feature will help reception? Thanks
