Rt. 100 N / Lazalle Union Rd. Near Dana Mine intersection, Maidsville, WV 26541 Thu Jun 30, 2011

Up until yesterday (June 29, 2011) we had reception at our home. I attempted to make a calls from my cell phone but all calls were dropped, stating NO SERVICE. I called US Cellular to see if the tower we would be pinging from was out and was told they recently contracted with 'other carriers' for tower service. I was told we live in a "NO SERVICE" area... .well, guess what, we have not moved. Such poor business practices that US Cellular would not even notify us that we were about to be located into a "no service" area. We have had US Cellular for the past 10 years and never had problems. Now all of a sudden, literally within 1 day, we are in a NO Service area. Thanks, US CELLULAR. Now we must find another carrier, or completely do without cell service... ..because what is the use if you can't use your cell phone from your own home. We are about to do away with our land line and just use cell service, but now I do not know which carrier will allow is service in our location. Any suggestions for our area... .North of Morgantown, off Rt. 100 N. The cell reception map shows a US Cellular tower off Rt 7 West and Rt 19 N, which is only a matter of 5 miles from my house... .go figure.

Dayton Park Rd., Philippi, WV 26416 Sun Jun 05, 2011

Older Motorola displayed No Service. Updating to this LG helped with reception, but still cannot get reliable signal inside the house. 0-1 bar at best. Oddly, text messages can be sent and recieved.

We have zero cell phone reception in Hundred and you have to drive almost to Mannington to get any kind of signal.

Motorola Droid 2
Greenbrier St. / Rutledge Rd. intersection, Charleston, WV 25311 Thu May 12, 2011

Office location near corner of Greenbrier St.and Rutledge Rd.with essentially zero signal. Once in awhile, can get a text message in or out, but most often no signal at all. Zero signal on Rutledge Rd.to Baker's Fork to Oakridge. Signal adequate at top of Oakridge. Placed call to Verizon requesting that this be checked about May 9, 2011. Have not yet received call back. Really like Verizon, we are a recent switch from AT&T. Giving AT&T its due, I could usually make voice calls from same office on AT&T. So... I like Verizon, except for the fact that I can't use my phone at work... kind of a deal-breaker for me.

AT and T is HORRIBLE in Summersville, Cowen, Webster area. Do not get AT&T. Go with U.S. Cellular in these areas. You will be dropped occasionally, but at least they have towers.

Main St., Petroleum, WV 26161 Wed Mar 16, 2011

There are no towers in Petroleum WV. There aren't many towers in Ritchie County WV. Verizon or any other provider would be smart to put towers there and benefit from those customers.
