LG VX4500
Webster County, Camden On Gauley, WV 26208 Sun Jan 14, 2007

Virtually no coverage anywhere in Webster county. Spent 3 weeks without coverage. Had to drive to Summersville to check my voice mail once a week. Although I did have coverage at the Airport in Charleston. From the coverage map on the website Verizon Wireless has EXTREMELY poor to non-existant coverage in West Virginia. Have to find a different company or get a flippin Sat phone

I have a few days left on my contract. I will end this contract when it expires and the Alltel CAR will have to find someone else to pay for their sparkplugs for the Daytona 500.

This is the third phone provided by Cingular to provide us with a cell phone signal. The first two units were LG 225 then an upgraded model. As of today we cannot get any of these phones to indicate signal strength. Were are now awaiting a fourth phone from Cingular, it should be a Motorola L2 unit. If it does not do any better we will probaly cancel the remainder of our contract. All of these phone do seem to operate in the Parkersburg city limits and / or on the open highways when traveling but not at or near our home.

Pinnacle Rock / Rt 52 intersection, Bluefield, WV 24701 Thu Aug 03, 2006

I think all cell providers need to increase the reception and towers in the Mercer / McDowell / Wyoming and Monroe County areas. We all pay the fees for the service in the entire area but are limited in use of the phone. Maybe discounted unavailable options need to be addressed. I travel these areas daily and with elderly parents I need to have the coverage in case of emergencies while on the road.

Variable reception. The signals varies between 5 bars and 'no network coverage' in any spot on this tower coverage. Literally every call dropped. Very disappointing.

Snowshoe Mountain / southern WV, Snowshoe, WV 26209 Thu Jul 13, 2006

I noticed alot of people complaing about the cell phone service in southern WV near the Snowshoe Mountain area. There is a reason behind this and it is not the fault of the cell phone service carriers. When you are traveling in that area there is a dead space in cell phone service due to the Greenbank National Observatory. Cell phones interfer with the satalite dishes and the transmittion there so the gov't put a ban on cell phone service in that area. Just a heads up to those who are complaing about their carriers. There is nothing the carriers can do about this. This effects all cell phone carrier services.
