I get very limited reception in this area and absolutely No reception in the area between Cty Rd FF / 91, also along Hwy. 45 between Oshkosh and Fond du Lac at certain times of the year (esp. late winter and early spring) it seems to be weather / atmosphere related.

Verizon is not allowing people with national calling plans to roam to contracted providers because of the roaming fees they have to pay the contractor. This means the customer is not receiving calls and have to call 2 to3 times to get the phone service to roam to a provider with the correct signal powerin order to make a call. The people are not getting what they are paying for.

Cingular claims that this is a medium coverage area. I get NO reception in or near this area. Can receive 1 out of every 10 calls and can make even fewer. Cingular states that they do not know when the coverage will get better. Also dropping calls on Ashland, near 172 and any place from Nicolet RD and 54 / 57 all the way up A. This is if you can receive the call at all!

This entire area is almost completely dead- no cell, digital pager, and even TV reception is very poor. A real problem when you're on call 24-7 for work and live in this area. Can get limited signal with 3w booster. (Have tried Alltel, it's even worse, contrary to local advertising.) Hope Cell One improves the network someday, but 'no-man's land' in NW WI is probably not a high priority...

I tried a 14-day trial with Cellular One nationwide coverage. I wanted this because of their coverage map showing WI up through Upper Mi. Terrible, in the Marshfield area with no service unless you go North to Wal-mart. I travel to Upper Mi. and the service is good from Wal-mart in Marshfield north to the WI / MI border the Watersmeet, Mi area. Then the service steadily drops off to no service at all for almost two hrs. of driving in Upper Mi, and their map shows coverage for the whole area up there. I sent the phone back and will try Alltel.

If you have a Cellular One phone GSM technology, It will not work at all in Marshfield, WI. If you have the old digital TDMA it will work sporadically in town, not at all on the South Side intermittently on the North side.

If you travel in rural areas of Northern WI, don't count on your cell phone. Towers are limited to inside the city limits (where you could just as easily use a land line). GSM didn't help. Back when everything was analog and I carried a bag phone in my car, I had far better coverage.

Upgraded from digital to GSM. No signal from Little Red School all the way to Mondovi. Was told it was the phone. Had 2 phones and neither had reception.

Updated from digital to GSM plan. Big mistake. Could call all along Hyw 40 south from Island lake with digital. Basically no GSM signal at all untill just about to Hyw 53. Good thing I read the contract about 14 day trial. Cancelled and moved over to Alltel, no problems
