Sprint is totally useless. The entire time we were in Cumberland, where we travel quite often, all we get is "Looking for Service" - have NEVER picked up a signal there.

Changed from AT&T to Sprint hoping for better reception when on the road. Sprint is just as bad if not worse. Phone goes into analog roam and sucks battery dry. So much for having a cell phone in case of an emergency. If I needed to use mine it wouldn't work or the battery would die in use. This happens all over the state not just in this area. When I am at home I go into analog roam in my basement, Sprint says they don't guarentee service inside your home. Told me to have my phone checked, when you call the local store you get an answering machine asking you to leave a number to schedule an appointment,

I get good reception when in Eagle River, Wi., but when I head north of Eagle River, after about 2 miles, I lose all reception. When I am in Land O Lakes, again I have no reception - Boulder Junction no recption. If your north of Hwy. 70, good luck. There is a tower near Land O Lakes off Hwy. B called the Merrill Lake Tower. This tower is about 8 miles west of Land O Lakes on Hwy. B. My neighbor has Cingular and his phone works just fine. Cingular is using that tower, so I was told. What is wrong with Verizon? Are they too cheap to also use the tower? I guess they just want to leave their customers hanging. I've been a Verizon customer for over two years and have never had reception the above locations. How much longer before this largest network gets their act together. Needless to say, I am presently checking out Cingular.

I'm not just ripping on T-Mobile here. Any of the big companies that you see on TV alot (like T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T) only work in very large cities. None of the cellular providers I listed have service in my town of 25,000. If you live in a large city and don't travel alot, I recommend one of these providers. But if you don't live in Madison, Milwaukee or Kenosha... forget it! If you DO get service in smaller cities, you will be paying a roaming charge of probably $0.60 per minute. Go to the websites of these providers and look at their coverage maps... absolutely terrible!
