No problems anywhere in Boothbay Harbor even down on the waterfront. I use US Cellular.

I think most people do not realize that you have to do a tower update on your phone at least once a month. (*228, send, option #2) Garnet Rd. and the Harpswell area do not get that great of reception, but finally Harpswell agreed to let Verizon Wireless put a tower up. The reception will be improving very soon. I have had cell service through AT&T and US Cellular, Verizon is better by far. Plus if something happens to your cell Verizon can usually fix it right then and there. Other carriers, you lose your cell for a week while they send it off to the manufacturer.

when I went from AT&T to Cingular gsm compatable phone I got great reception in town gardiner where as before the gsm phone I got no reception Make sure you have a gsm cingulr phone

Depending on where I go the number of bars fluctuates between 3 and 4 (out of 4) across Wiscasset. This is much better than I expected as Verizon claims they have no coverage in the area. Never had a dropped call and very rarelty cuts out. Slow to connect to Get-It-Now sometimes but other than that the service is great. The phone's reception could have something to do with it seeing as it was one of the highest reviewed phones in that area of use that Verizon offers. On the few occasions that I've been out of town and brought my phone and had no bars the service still worked almost perfect. I'd recommend to anyone looking to get a reliable wireless service in the coastal area. P.S. The service also works very well in Boothbay including in the harbor.

Service around Damariscotta is good to perfect. There are some dead spots on the way to South Bristol.

Generally good service in this VZW zone. Best is out near the I-295 corridor where there is a tower just north of town and one south on the Brunswick / Freeport border.

I have traveled throughout Maine (not in far north though). My reception has been generally good even inland and way downeast. Sometimes lose calls and reception can suffer in large buildings.

The best reception is outdoors.

maybe 3 bars, at home I'd say half my calls drop out unless I go outside or upstairs and find a sweet spot and stay still while talking

Good reception. It drops the call in one spot predictably, other than that, decent service.

Has imporved in the brunswick area this past year. all abouve ground locations in house are now o.k.

On a good day we can get two bars reception outside. Inside reception goes to nothing. I would classify the reception as very spotty, it cuts out all of the time. In the same location a US Cellular phone gets 4 bars reception and does not cut out. I don't understand why this is when Verizon ans us cellular use the same cellular technology.

Ok outside of home.. no reception or 1 bar in house.

Outside the house we get 2 bars. Inside the house, only one bar on my phone and no service on the wife's phone (which is the primary phone). We have exchanged my wife's phone trying to get a poor performer instead of a no performer, but only got worst.

Even with a strong signal sound quality is poor and it is often tricky to decipher phone conversations. Frequently drops calls inside my home and if I am in a large building (Walmart, etc.) I can forget about reception unless I go outside. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Cingular (AT&T) would be any better.
