Signal inside of Orange is perfect. Signal tends to get a little worse towards Unionville, and there is very little signal towards Gordonsville on Rt. 15, and it is essentially impossible to place a call along 231 to Charlottesville. I suppose that's normal though - no provider I know of gets coverage through that area.

Hard to find cell service for Gordonsville. SunCom TDMA worked well in my home until I upgraded to the Motorola phone. (Formerly had a Mitsubishi Trium T300). Could not understand how the reception changed to "roaming" or "partner" if I moved 2" to one side or the other within the same room with the newer phone. (Suncom tower in Gordonsville is 2 miles away). With the older phone, I had to change rooms before the signal changed... NICE reception in Charlottesville and on I-64. For Gordonsville, stay within 2-3 miles of the tower; do not attempt to use phone on Rts 22 or 231... Had a 1 week stay in Springfield, VA; had problems with dropped calls.

High ground 3 / 4 mile southwest of the Courthouse Rd and Leavells Rd intersection. AT&T mobile known generally throughout the Spotsylvania area as the best cell coverage, at least in 2008.

Nextel seems to work better in the area between Columbia and Hadensville than Verizon. Walkie-talkie feature works well.

Very reliable reception, NEVER a get any dropped calls, throughout the Spotsylvania Orange area. Only problem with service happens when I'm in a big building and that's a rarity.

Very few dropped calls. There are only one or two "bad spots". Good coverage throughout Route 3 to Orange and all the way down into Partlow and Lake Anna areas. Entire City of Fredericksburg is covered. Only provider I am aware of in the area with true wide-area coverage. Been a customer for almost 10 years, tried others (friends, work, etc... ) and never switched.

Outside of house, good reception most days 3 bars or more. Inside has some problems 1 to 2 bars. I was sent several text messages which I received six or more hours after it was sent to the next day. Calls have been missed, even though I have bars showing on my phone, same with the text messages. This is my only complaint with AT&T is that the messages sometimes do not come through or the calls do not make it to my phone, even though the phone shows bars. Otherwise, good coverage and so far can not complain about AT&T service.

The reception indors is normally 1 to 2 and occasionaly 3 and outdoors, normally 3. Once I leave off Grand Brooks, it starts to pick up signal and then goes to perfect signal until I pass the high school off Courthouse Rd.which comes up with, "NO SERVICE," until I pass the high school. Once I get past there and head to Fredericksburg, it normally stays on 3 or 4 bars and as soon as I enter Fredericksburg, it stays perfect the whole time I am out and about on the town.

Very poor reception in my basement. Service fluctuates from 1X-1XII in my neighborhood. But still great call quality and signal everywhere else I go. AT&T and Verizon are like Coke and Pepsi. They both have their flaws.

Way too many dropped calls in the county. I've had Sprint for over 3 years and have had good results all around the US. They just don't have great coverage in Spotsylvania.

I have had Sprint PCS for 2 years in this area and had no problem until yesterday. Now my phone is on and off signal. I call Sprint PCS from my home land line to report the problem. Sprint PCS rep doesn't know much. I told them that I believed the base station close to my area having trouble to send / receive signal. They told me to go to the Sprint Store to upgrade my software (?). I told them I did, and this phone is a new phone so the store told me this phone did not need to upgrade (!).
