T-Mobile
I've had T-Mobile for years, and yes, there are times I've had dropped calls, but what cell carrier hasn't. All in all it's been great service with few problems such as dropped calls or no reception.

AT&T
I've had AT&T in Huntsville for several years, and I've never had any issues with dropped calls or poor service. Just wish they had LTE here.

Sprint
I live between Redstone Arsenal west side and the Huntsville airport. Reception is awesomely great. However, when I lived close to University of Alabama Huntsville just northeast of Hwy. 72 and Sparkman reception was much poorer. I talked to one of the Sprint employees in the Madison mall store and they said that 4G was already being tested in Huntsville. If 4G comes, Sprint will be the best since it has no limits. ATT has a 2G limit, Verizon has a 5G limit. I use Netflix and the limit matters.

Verizon
We just switched to Verizon from AT&T. I have service all over the place. Some of these comments are old, and it seems Verizon has improved service a lot. I had service all the way down 64. Had 3G service too. Minor Hill, all over Lexington, Pulaski, etc. Very happy with Verizon.

Verizon
Switched today and love Verizons service. I posted on Nextel and how bad they are. I didn't mean to put Verizons name on there tho for the first one.

Verizon
I had AT&T and service was horrible. I would always drop my call or get the Call Failed or Network Busy thing. Verizon has amazing service and I always seem to keep 4-5 bars everywhere I am. 3G is speeds are fast too! I highly recommend Verizon.

Verizon
I live in Decatur and travel to other states frequently-Verizon is the best carrier overall that I have had. I previously had Cingular and had many problems with service (none) and customer service (poor).

Nextel
I have had Nextel for 4 years now, 1.5 years in Athens area. Absolutely GREAT signal and service. I even have bars all the way to Florence in the west, Bankhead and Sipsey Wilderness, and all the way to Chattanooga out 72 and 54. I rarely have a drop call. I'm not crazy about my phone model. It's clunky and little pieces keep coming off. Nextel customer service has been great, too. I travel to Pensacola to see my parents often and even have coverage miles off the interstate on 231 and 21. My only complaint is the weak-ass car charger for my model phone. I think they make them so the'll break in about 3 weeks and you have to buy a new one! I put duct tape around the last one I got immediately after purchase and managed to keep it going a year.

T-Mobile
Excellent signal at this particular location and most of HSV. I know each cell carrier has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you want to get excellent customer service and superb signal through T-mobile, then having that cell provider is Highly recommened!

Sprint
Good coverage. Huntsville has no 4G though. Never drop calls... For some reason though, sometimes, I only have 1 or 2 bars, but even though voice calls are clear and do not drop!

Sprint
Whatever, Sprint has good service pretty much all over the place. I travel for business and even go to some considerably remote locations (read: Fort Irwin, CA) and still seem to have good coverage. Also have a Verizon phone (business phone) and it gets good coverage too. Know people with ATT phones and they're okay. Used to have T-Mobile as my business phone, it was crap. Pretty much I think any of them are fine except for T-mobile. Sprint seems to be the best as far as prices though. Verizon seems a little high.

Sprint
Back in the day, Sprint's service was horrible, but I have to admit, after leaving them and coming back (left:2001 came back:2007), they have REALLY improved their service. I admit, I don't get coverage EVERYWHERE, but who does? I get great signal especially for the extremely cheap rates that I pay. I love the service and don't want to switch. Any time I have an issue-they're right there to help. I love having service with them and I get great coverage-wouldn't trade it!

T-Mobile
Inside the store, iPhone got no signal on AT&T. Switched SIM to T-Mobile in the same iPhone, and get 4 bars. Overall better coverage and data speeds using the same device.

Sprint
sprint has really beefed up their network in the huntsville area over the past few years, coverage has gotten very good in most places, and with mostly all of their plans including free roaming, your phone will switch to a network (in huntsville it switches to Verizon) that can make a call. I have no problems in Huntsville / Madison any more!

Verizon
Verizon is the only carrier I have found to give me reliable reception all over.

Sprint
Good reception on Sprint in the Harvest area on most of the Sprint phones I've had. Much better than on my Cingular phone for work. There are a few weaker spots, but I haven't dropped a call yet.

T-Mobile
I have no problem with my T Mobile reception. I have had T Mobile for almost 10 years now (before they were T Mobile). They have great customer service also.

Nextel
Over the past 3 Years Nextel reception has gotten considerably better. As of now Verizon and Nextel probably have the best coverage, followed by T-Mobile, then Cingular, then Sprint.

Nextel
Overall good service with Nextel in my area, for some reason when I go into a certain wal-mart service drops almost to nothing, however when I go into all of the other wal marts and sams club, phone has full service. I have been told the roofs at some of the older wal-marts block out cell phone service.

Nextel
Great reception in my house unless I'm next to the computer; solid reception around town. The great thing about Nextel is that once you get service, you tend to keep it, and 1 bar calls sound just as clear and good as 4 bar calls. Only location with spotty reception is one of the local wal-marts due to the construction of the roof. This reception problem does not happen in any other wal-mart.

T-Mobile
Phone reflects good reception, but after 2-3 months, begins dropping lines and has so much static you can't talk even if the line doesn't drop. T-Mobile will not stand behind it, will offer add'l minutes but no assistance with phone. Can't use additional minutes if the calls don't go through or can't be heard. Understand that it is a software problem from Motorola, but I either have to pay for a new phone or wait for them to identify and fix the problem. Not happy! Phone has not been dropped or abused, and all usage guidelines have been met. T-Mobile response: "sorry"

AT&T
Reception is 4 bars out of 5 inside my house, but only if I connect my phone to a Wilson cellular mobile antenna I purchased to improve the signal strength.

AT&T
Reception is good. It's a little weak in certain areas. But near the city of Huntsville, reception is a full 4 sticks. Cingular is great for those little cities because it's the only provider that works.

AT&T Wireless
Good: good reception almost anywhere I go. Bad: If you have a billing problem with them you will get no satisfaction.

Sprint
Just right past Bob Jones high school on Hughes road it drops calls... And a dip in Jeff road right past capshaw drops call. Overall pleased but disappointing its taking so long to get LTE here

Verizon
The network is extremely reliable. But the contracts are pricey. I want to try Boost. But I don't know how good the Sprint / Nextel Network is. AndI don't know if I could live without such a reliable network.
