Towers are built and improvements are constantly made, so the most recent comments are most reliable. But when determining which provider to go with, get a general feel rather than focusing on individual comments.

Eventually, as you read through the comments, you can see a general trend as to which service provider is superior in the area. Hopefully this will give you more of an idea rather than walking into a service plan blind. Sort by Carrier, City, Zip Code, Reception Rating, or Date by clicking on the header.

All of us have been happy with our Sprint service here, and we LOVE being able use the 'roam only' feature to use other networks, especially if signal is touchy. We have been happy!

I have perfect service all over here in Sioux Falls from AT&T with no roaming. My reception has been perfect everywhere even though it is edge only (no 3G).

So little problems with Verizon that I rated it a 5. Travels to West river, still no problems. Once upon a time had AT&T but never again. Dropped calls and no service once you leave Sioux Falls, unless I stay on I90 headed East. A Verizon customer for life.

This service and phone are great! We have traveled around the country and the Alltel has provided a signal where our Verizon has none. Both are fine in SF, but the Alltel exceeds when traveling.

Very impressed with Alltel in this area. Even in rural parts of SD, MN and IA reception has been good. Everywhere traveled has had reception! Thanks! I was told by several reps that the Nokia 6015i is good for signal too.

4 / 4 bars within the whole city! Only place where that may be less is on Cliff Ave. by the interstate ramps... Other than that, it has great coverage. Driving over in Luvurne had some spotty coverage unfortunately, but most of the time I had 3-4 bars. A few times I tried to call and it gave me "Alltel 13-72" error message. I tried putting the area code in front of it, an that resolved the issue.

If you are having problems with sprint, make sure you have the most recent PRL. My wifes RL4930 and my A900 both have excellent coverage. outside of SF different story, but if you are in sioux falls you should be covered 100%

Havent had no problems with Verizon yet like I did with other services. I like Verizon so far I get good reception all the time even out of state or rural counties. This is a good service to use

Even though my Motorola doesn't have an extending antenna, I've never had any problems with reception anywhere in town or out in the country. I've had the phone display no reception bars at all down in the Missouri River valley below Vermillion, SD and still received crystal clear reception.

At home I get 3-4 bars through the entire house, even in the basement laundry room. At work, I get 1-2 bars, which is really good for the type of building I am in.

We have been fairly happy with the service and coverage. When it is on a home network, coverage is good. When it is roaming, coverage is great! We have a national plan that has No roaming charges. If the phone works, it's ok to use. And the night and weekend mins start at 7! It is just the phone changing from PCS tower to cdma tower that is a glitch, which usually drops a call.

I have had a lg2 lg3 black berry and I say I have more problem with dropped calls and it does not matter where I am. I can talk to another Verizon person and get 2 dropped calls while talking to the same person. I am not happy with this and it seem to be getting worse. Am thinking of switching, but have been a long time customer and they can not tell me why I am getting the dropped calls. I always have all the bars when this happens. so go figure this one out

Seem to get dropped calls when calling long distance from our home area. This includes Watertown, SD and Luverne, MN. When we are up at Lake Madison (on the north side), we have terrible reception. Many times we cannot even dial out.
