Cell Phone Coverage Map in Hallam, NE 68368 - By Reception Rating |
|
|
Cell phone coverage comments are submitted voluntarily by visitors around the Hallam, NE 68368 area.
Towers are built and improvements are constantly made, so the most recent comments are most reliable. But when determining
which provider to go with, get a general feel rather than focusing on individual comments.
Eventually, as you read through the comments, you can see a general trend as to which service provider is superior in the area.
Hopefully this will give you more of an idea rather than walking into a service plan blind. Sort by Carrier, City, Zip Code,
Reception Rating, or Date by clicking on the header. |

Sprint is very good in Lincoln, just not in AirPark or South of Saltillo Road. It helps if you get regular upgrades (PRL and Software updates) on your phone.

I have been with Alltel for about 5 Yrs and, with the exception of the first 6 months that it took me to work out some billing issues, I have had good service. I have an occasional dropped call at home but never at any other time. I travel throughout the state and have found only a few places that I've had trouble. Even some of those places have improved over the last few years with additional towers. I had trouble with my first SOHO within the first month and the Alltel rep replaced it with another unit. I had Motorola phones before the current Kyocera and had great luck with them.

I've tried both Sprint and Verizon (post Alltel merger), and Sprint is hands down better coverage. I had personally never dropped a call until I tried Verizon, but there's a first time for everything I guess...

I have had no problems with low signals in Lincoln. Especially in East Lincoln, I have had consistantly 5 bars from between 84th and 56th, Pine Lake through O. I highly recommend them in Lincoln.

I have been a happy Verizon custoemr for almost a year. Since march, Verizon has vastly improved their coverage in South Lincoln... no more popping into Extended Network when you shop at SouthPoint Pavilions at 27th and Pine Lake. Verizon only works up until about 10 miles west of Lincoln on Interstate, though, but the extended network and no roaming fees work well for a seamless transition. In town, I have between 50% and 100% coverage, though some buildings will block the signal if you are in doors.

I never, ever, ever get less than maximum bars while in this area or while downtown. Lincoln seems pretty well supersaturated with digital Alltel towers. I do a lot of stormchasing (which takes me all over the state), and honestly, the only carrier that comes close to matching Alltel's coverage is Verizon. And that's because Verizon and Alltel share towers.

Switched to Sprint from Alltel after I had 90 minutes credit for dropped calls in one month. Sprint has been perfect. 3 years in and no dropped calls, and I get reception everywhere in the city. Love Sprint..highly recommend them.

Great reception with Sprint in East Lincoln. Also, we often go to Omaha and while in the car my wife can visit with relatives in California and Denver along the interstate. No problems with dropped calls. A+ service.

Not bad reception, cell tower located soutwest of the zoo. 27th street South is spotty, notiably worse towards South street, then get really good the farther south you go. there are plenty of towers south of hwy 2 where the newer part of lincoln is. It sucks that midtown people get bad reception sometimes. But for the most part I've been happy with Cingular in Lincoln.

Everyone complains about their cell service, but in the 4 years I've been in Lincoln, I have never had a problem with Alltel. Once in a while the calls will drop, but not sure if it's me or the person I'm talking to. I always have service in buildings and all over town. Plus, I've found the majority of people in Nebraska use Alltel, so you really get your use out of the mobile to mobile minutes.

Many areas have 4-5 bars (out of 5) in downtown, then gets spotty in north. In south area and many residential areas between streets listed, reception is spotty with numerous dead zones. Around hospital between 10th and 19th South St. are major dead spots, including my entire house.

I have repeatedly complained about Sprint's poor service in this rapidly growing area of town. At the Sprint Store they say there's a "tower issue," which they have never fixed.

In Lincoln, Omaha and in-between, super reception, never dropped a call in five years with Sprint. Now living south of Hickman and will be forced to switched to Alltel in order to have any service out there. At least Sprint will let me out of my contract early because they know they have no coverage out there.
