I tried calling my wife, who was standing next to me, and could not make the call. She is also using ATT.

Plenty of signal outside. 1 bar to no signal inside my building. Much weaker than T-Mobile GSM in same location, so it's not just due to 1900 MHz building penetration. Phone usable only if right by window.

Reception is all over the map. Anywhere from 1 to 5 without changing location.

Sanyo's worked where the nokias and samsungs didn't. Trade in the nokias and samsungs and then you will see the phone makes all the difference.

whenever i am in my house, soemtime i get 0-3 signals depending on where ip ut my phone [a few centimeters does show a different!!] but when i get to Boston University or other places rather than my house, i usually get 4-6 signals always. Well except when you are in door or where in some crappy area, which the signal is extremely poor. AT&T sucks period.

Using a SonyEricsson T616 the coverage in door in this area is having very poor service. Often lost signals, drop calls, and only have 1 bar of service in certain spots. Some spots have no signals at all.

New cell tower means the neighborhood (Lower Mills, Dorchester/Boston) gets good reception.

Using a SonyEricsson T610 I found the reception to be pretty good (often between 3 and 4 bars, occasionally 1 or 2 bars) but I almost always have service in the Newton/Chestnut Hill area (also Boston College campus). I switched to T-Mobile from ATT wireless....T-Mobile is MUCH MUCH better all around I have found. (ATT wireless's GSM service is too new, the reception sucks right now.)
