Verizon
Coverage changed within the past 2 weeks. Went from consistently having 4 to 5 bars on Verizon, to only having 1 to 2 bars on "Verizon" or 3 to 4 bars on "Extended". Calls are not coming through / go straight to voicemail, or drop consistently. Called Verizon and was told to "buy a network extender" or upgrade my phone and use my Wi-Fi network.

I have Consumer Cellular but I get no reception. Does anyone know if a booster or remitter will help me?

Woodstock High School is arguably the place where phone reception is important in Woodstock. That said, Verizon has great coverage as they have a tower right up the hill from the school. AT&T has virtually no coverage. They should add service onto the Verizon tower!

With Verizon, inside the house, I would get voicemail notifications but the phone would never ring. I could get and receive text messages. I did manage to watch a youtube video at the end of the driveway once to test the data portion but in the house there was no data. I just tried US Mobile and my phone turned into a paperweight... no signal at all with phone, texts, or data. Their map shows my house in 4G coverage. I found out from them they use T-Mobile's towers. I'm not expecting LTE in my living room, this is living in the woods in NH, I accept that just fine. But it sucks that I'm paying a ton of $$$ for something I rarely use and for now it seems I'm stuck with Verizon.

While I get very spotty reception at my home in Grantham I get very good reception along the I-89 corridor in the Upper Valley including inside many buildings. That said; I think we pay too much for our service and would love am alternative.

at&t shows 'coverage' for Enfield, New Hampshire. There is NO coverage for this area. They have a tower off of I-89 that is only miles from Enfield, so why isn't there a signal? Ironically, if you go into Hanover, which is 15 miles away in a straight line, you CAN get a signal from the VERY SAME tower in Enfield that will not give a single bar in the immediate area. I went to the AT&T retail store in West Lebanon for help, and the staff pulled up a coverage map at my request. The map shows coverage for Enfield. The staff admitted it was a 'coverage' area, and then in the same breath admitted there was no coverage. An employee at the store said that he lives in Enfield and can not use at&t. It was then suggested that I purchase a $150 signal booster. As AT&T markets this area as covered, it seems to me that the cost of a booster is something that they should pay for and provide to the customer. I can't help but wonder what the FCC would think about their lack of coverage? NO EXCUSE. If you market that you cover the area, then it is on the carrier to provide a booster, not the customer. TALK ABOUT CONSUMER FRAUD.

Once in a while we can get 1 bar... if we climb up on the roof of our living room! Otherwise we have to drive 3 miles to the highest ridge to pick up a signal from neighboring Sharon, VT. In an emergency this is ridiculous. And we have many people working away from any contact... logging, construction, etc. that need reception in case of accidents. Why can't we get a tower in our own town?! It's 2015 for heaven's sake!

I signed on with US Cellular in the spring of 2010. They were seemingly a great service right to the end. That's the issue here. The end. In my last term with them, I bought on to a 5GB plan. Of this plan they allowed a whopping 200MB of "roaming data". Not a lot for the money. Being a truck driver needing a phone for more than just a phone, this "roaming data" goes away quick. If you go over this "roaming data" more than 3 times in a lifetime with them the first terminate all your data use and notify you of your end of service date. Nice huh?? Dig this. Now after having to sign on with a company that fits my needs with start up and all that's involved with that, I continued to pay down my balance that remained with them on a monthly basis. Guess what? Not go enough for their liking, they submitted my balance to an outside collections. Yup! For a huge sum of $80 that would have been paid to them within the next 60 days. Great business ethics and customer loyalty! NOT! I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy! Piss poor.

No reception certainly stinks. In this day and age, this should not happen.

By using a network extender bought from Verizon, I have been able to increase my reception to 1-2 bars of coverage on rare occasions instead of 0-1 bar. Calls always dropped, text messages missed. Hanover for the most part has terrible coverage and Verizon is the best of a bad lot.
