Used to have great service on Verizon throughout downtown Portsmouth. They tell me that some reprogramming of towers last Fall has led to some holes in service. ONe of those holes is my office. Most of the area right along the Piscataqua river all the way to the Mall in Newington is now very "iffy". Verizon's been telling me they're going to fix this since October. It's getting worse. and I'm still under contract, having to pay for service I don't have. Was this review helpful to you?
Decent reception from my apartment on Bennett Way using Verizon's PCS. (1900MHz) Occaisionally I get more bars at my apartment if I force my phone to roam (free) onto Unicell (800MHz). However, Unicell seems to drop calls more. Downtown has almost no service. I roam onto Unicell there and along route 108 between Durham and Newmarket. Durham has good Verizon PCS reception most places, but at times it roams onto Unicell. Was this review helpful to you?
Poor reception, and calls sometimes drop. However this is better than Verizon who have zero reception at my house, and AT&T who have zero reception in most of Newmarket. I enter a roaming area on Grant Rd. (one mile from home), in parts of Durham, and in Exeter (at Phillips Exeter Academy). Was this review helpful to you?
The new (Cingular?) cell tower has been approved located just off Rt. 101 near Hampton Beach. My Verizon phone works well (4) on the third floor of my townhouse and sometimes I can get out on the 1st and 2nd floor. No service at all at ground level for at least half mile in either direction on Ocean Blvd. Reception gets better going south but N. Hampton has little or no reception near the beach. Hopefully the new Rt. 101 tower will get everyone to sign on and help the beach. Was this review helpful to you?
Bad reception from Squamscott Rd. at Rt. 33 to Post Rd. in Greenland. The phone calls drop and the phone goes to no service. Was this review helpful to you?
Very poor reception from Squamscott Road to downtown Newmarket. Lucky when calls are not dropped. Was this review helpful to you?
They are promising a new tower to be operational as soon as the court renders a decision. The tower is up with nothing on it until the judge say yay. Two nearby residents are posting a last ditch stand with little hope. Four carriers will probably sign on once it's over. Service sucks once you get east of Rt. 1.Was this review helpful to you?
Signal rings in and out, but always drops call after about 2-3 minutes. Seacoast has tough reception as it is, but dropping calls religiously gets to you quickly. Was this review helpful to you?
I get one bar of reception on Grant Rd, Newmarket, two miles from town. My wife gets four bars on her phone w/AT&T. When I go to Conway NH, my Sprint service con only receive on roam. Verizon users do well in this area. Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
I am uncertain why this is a dead zone for AT&T Wireless and Nextel but reception in this area is sporatic and often non-existant (New Market.) I was told by a close friend in the cable television industry service in this area is disrupted by topographical features; specifically, the granite hills right alongside of route 108.Was this review helpful to you?
