Horrible reception in Brunswick and on base. No reception at home. AT&T will not cancel contract without $175 per phone fee. Definitely do not recommend them for this area. Was this review helpful to you?
Intown Boothbay Harbor Region, about a one-mile radius, gets a fine signal. The rest of the peninsula, N-S-E-W, signal is very poor. To get better than a two-bar signal, you almost have to be parked directly in sight of the tower behind the local strip mall. Sad that we pay so much for such crappy service. Was this review helpful to you?
I HAVE UNICEL GSM. Alright then... I've never had a cell phone in Maine. I have Unicel's NationWide GSM with a Motorola V180. My girlfriend has a V505 and used to have a Nokia 3220 (also GSM) with Unicel. My friends with US Cellular have reception where I don't. Myself, I don't get half of the SMS's sent to me, and often calls don't come in at all-- not even as missed calls-- and I'll get the voicemail notification 12 hours later. I go stand 150 feet from a Unicel GSM tower in-town, and GPRS (internet) is still shoddy, has problems connecting. My girlfriend tells me things were a lot better with her Nokia. I'm returning my Motorola, trying a Nokia, and if that doesn't work, I'm off to US Cellular. Was this review helpful to you?
It's clear that the cell phone service companies have ignored Maine (and will apparently continue to ignore it) as a small market not worth their attention. Sad comment on the community-minded spirit of American business. Was this review helpful to you?
Good reception. It drops the call in one spot predictably, other than that, decent service. Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
All towers should share for reception purposes Then we get more area coverage for signals And that is what we all need most to reley on our phones Not all the other stuff such as radios cameras etc.Was this review helpful to you?

For everyone touse cell phones We need much better Recption Not all the frills This is a part of life now and forever So let each cell phone company utilize and share each tower as much as possibleWas this review helpful to you?
No coverage in Boothbay / Boothbay Harbor. First usable tower seems to be in Edgecomb (just south of Edgecomb Potters)Was this review helpful to you?
Spoke with Cingular about problem, they downloaded something to the phone (possibly to enable / force roaming in this area), but had no effect. Likely the nearby tower(s) have no GSM yet.Was this review helpful to you?
Even with a strong signal sound quality is poor and it is often tricky to decipher phone conversations. Frequently drops calls inside my home and if I am in a large building (Walmart, etc.) I can forget about reception unless I go outside. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Cingular (AT&T) would be any better. Was this review helpful to you?
