Verizon

i just moved to brooklyn and I have to walk four blocks from my apartment to answer the phone (which sucks with job interviews and WINTER). I don't know what it is. everyone in my building gets reception, as do my friends who also have verizon, excepting one with a similar phone body type and battery. I called Verizon and they said my model shouldn't interfere with reception, but it's a new phone this year and i've updated the towers (228) and still I have to slide my phone under the door to find out two hours after the fact that I have a voicemail I have to circle the block to check. booooo LG, boooo.

I have never had a problem with Nokia phones and T-Mobile service. All my roommates (AT&T and Sprint, have to go outside for reception) but I have almost perfect reception.

Nearly every call is lost within seconds. Phone shows maximum bars for signal strength, but there seem to be too few circuits to actually handle a call when it comes in or goes out and then the phone searches for and switches to a tower too far away. Result: the call is dropped. Same thing happens to others in this area. "Can you hear me now?"... (silence)...

My calls are constantly dropped. Before they are dropped, I have to repeat my statements 4 or 5 times before the person on the other end can hear what I'm saying. Cingular refuses to admit there is a problem with their system in my neighborhood, and keeps claiming that it's something wrong with my phone, which they've replaced 3 times now. Throughout the rest of the city, I have varying success in making phone calls. It is not rare to have my calls dropped in the city or in the other boroughs.

5 bars inside or out of the building. Perfect! Way to go T-mo

Had Sprint years ago - no reception - switched to Verizon 5 years ago - very few reception problems since. The LG 8000, while large, gives good reception (also has a faily low SAR of 85) - Main negative no Bluetooth.

Only by an occasional miracle can I complete a call from here to midtown. Abysmal service, they keep sending mailers telling me how they're improving service in NYC - wish they'd spend the marketing money on towers. Also - north of Bank St.along the riverwalk service is pathetic to non-existant to the midtown area.

Verizon service and reception never goes above 3 bars... then drops the call without warning. I'm on the 6th floor and calling right next to window.

Never had a problem with Sprint in my apartment or office. Apartment is on 15th floor and Office is on 37th floor. Will lose calls in elevator, but who doesn't.. it's rude to talk on the phone in elevators anyway.

What the Hell are half of you people talking about. I get Coverage Everywhere with Verizon and I mean Everywhere. You people with Cingular are lying. With Cingular I had nothing around here. Verizon ROCKS. And for you that said "Verizon Spokes-Dork: "Can you hear me now?" Verizon Customer: "Huh?" Verizon Spokes-Dork: "Good." YOU SUCK ---------! Everywhere around here it is "Good"
