T-Mobile

Absolutely the worst coverage of any major carrier in NYC. I consistently get no service in the office building and very poor coverage in the hotel. I am very disappointed with T-Mobile's coverage as I travel quite a bit for work and find it rather frustrating to have to deal with such poor coverage in the areas that I travel. The reality is that I mostly go to large metropolitan areas and their service has consistently been very poor.

Great service, fast internet. I can't complain, Verizon is great in the city

T-Mobile

LTE coverage is very fast. Went up to 55 Mbp down once. T-Mobile is getting better and better by the year. Coverage has gotten a lot better.

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 95 Christopher St., New York, NY 10014 |

Sprint claims it's repairing towers in NYC, now 6 months, service is a disaster, incoming calls never receive or sent to voice mail, messages not showing up until the next day, out going calls regularly dropped

AT&T

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Madison Square Park, New York, NY 10016 |

I've been with both TMobile and AT&T in the last year. The latter has been superior in both call quality and coverage. I used to drop signal completely whenever I entered a building on TM service, and despite the unlimited plan it seemed overly throttled. With AT&T I haven't had any issues anywhere and I get 4G LTE service throughout the entire city with no drop spots that I've noticed. LTE is faster than my home wifi (but that's Time Warner so obviously it's not great anyway). It could just be the phone though. My hubby has a Verizon iPhone. When we get the same text message from a mutual friend, mine will come in between 30 seconds to 2 minutes earlier, and most of our friends are on Verizon too. Make of that what you will. I just dislike AT&T prices, but you get what you pay for. All these unlimited plans look too good to be true, and so far IMHO they are.

Costly plan and the damn phone (Internet) and calls never work. Very frustrating. Switched from Sprint to Verizon and regret it dearly...

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Penn Station, New York, NY 10001 |

My work uses AT&T as our wireless carrier and for years I have been unable to get usable reception at Penn Station. Honestly, I think AT&T is throttling users here unless they are on high end data plans.

T-Mobile

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 146 Rutledge St., Brooklyn, NY 11211 |

On the street here T-Mobile have only about 3 bars but ones I step in to a building in the all area I lose the signals or stay with only about 1 or 2 singles so they have to work for better singles in indoors

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | WTC | Greenwich St., New York, NY 10007 |

Just switched from Verizon to Sprint and my reception has suffered. I used to have no issues getting reception in my office (interior but only about 20 feet from windows) now I get very poor reception and can't get through more than 1 or 2 songs on pandora without losing reception. Its very frustrating. I might have to go back to Verizon.
