AT&T

OMG, I can't believe how bad ATT coverage and reception here. I CAN NOT CALL IN MY OWN HOME. This is not a countryside. This is freaking NY are which is one of the biggest city in the US. And, ATT is one of the biggest wireless carrier in the US. How is that possible that I can not call. Rediculous~

I have 0-to minimal service in Brooklyn Heights. I always have to move around to find service. This is the worst experience I have had.

I'm on the 5th floor of a 5 floor building with 2 foot thick brick walls and 2 large windows in the main room. I get 5 bars in the main room near the windows but only 4 in the kitchen or bathroom. Never a problem. There is a cell tower about 300 ft away across the street at same height as my apartment, but it must be a different carrier; otherwise I would get 5 bars in the kitchen... I hope.

So bad. So frustrating. Terrible inside apartment; not much better outside. If I walk towards Manhattan, the service actually gets worse.

My school is near here in a big old building on the 7th Floor but no problems. Perfect reception.

I've never had a problem with my reception in NYC before... So I'm not really sure why everyone else's sounds so crappy... .

We only have reception in one window if we sit very still and then it still will not work most the time. This is ridiculous. It was so bad they sent me a mini cell and it still doesn't work even when I have bars and all. Of course it is just not our place it's all over the city. You go on line and AT&T says they have excellent service this area and through out NYC, who are they kidding we all know the service sucks all around the city. I never had a problem with Verizon for years and just counting the days left on AT&T contract. AT&T's new "We Support NYC" campaign is just more infuriating. Great they support the area but how about providing the service you promise first.

This is absurd! I called AT&T and they told me it was the building and not their lack of service. Well, Verizon users are talking on their phones right in front of me.

I moved offices from Stamford Ct to Wall St. and before we moved, I received a Blackberry (company), and purchased a new iPhone 4S and an iPad 2. All three devices sat with full bars (4-5) and yet I was unable to make / receive calls, text, nor get any data pushed to any of my devices while at my desk here on the 30th floor with a clear line of sight of brooklyn and south towards Jersey! Down on the street, it's not much better - but I can make phone calls. However, I know not to move once I connect because it'll quickly disconnect if I begin to walk. Funny thing is that it's not only me who's realized this and I can easily figure out who the AT&T customers are. We're the ones staring at our phones with frustrated and puzzled looks on our faces. I've since swapped my ATT Blackberry for a Verizon unit and it works magnificently. Voice, SMS, Data, everything! When my wife's contract expires on her iPhone 4, we're dumping everything and running to Verizon! There are two ATT retailers nearby. One on Water and the other up on b'way near Fulton. I daydream of picketing in front of these shops kinda like the 99% picket up the block over at Zuccotti park. Instead I'll make lewd comments about ATT towards potential customers entering or exiting these stores whenever I can.

I frankly don't believe the people here saying Sprint is 5 / 5 in Manhattan. In Northern Battery Park City there is no service whatsoever. No data and so little voice that the phone doesn't ring for most calls. I work all over Manhattan and service is extremely spotty overall. The area around the MoMa in the middle of Manhattan has no service either. The phone is basically useless. I've had Blackberries on Verizon and AT&T and Sprint's service a disaster compared to both (Verizon is of course better). Under no circumstances would I recommend Sprint to an NYC resident. Can't wait to get back onto Verizon - will never consider Sprint again.
