What happened? When the iPhone 5 came out in October I was so happy to finally have signal. Inside my office wasn't very strong but it worked and was reliable. Suddenly in mid-November 2012 it cut off! I'm talking NO SERVICE or a baby bump but receiving data would time out. It's like somebody hit a switch :((

Reception in this are is almost nonexistent for an AT&T customer. My oonstant complaints have caused the carrier to discount my monthly bill on several occasions. Due to the poor service, they have gone as far as cutting my data fee in half for as long as I remain a customer.

Day 5 and still can't connect to network. Issue started October 1, 2012. Can't call out, receive calls or texts. Sprint said towers in this area were being messed with because of Verizon. Ticket was closed today at 1pm and now it's AT&T that's effecting service. Sprint claims the issue is the local exchange server. VERY FRUSTRATING to say the least! Manhattan and Bronx NY are affected. However, not all users are having issues... weird!

If I do get any kind of signal from AT+T, it is spotty at best. I have stood in certain offices and gotten reception, then stood in another office a few doors down and nothing. I have even been unable to make a phone call standing outside of the building after trying 5 times and walking laps around the building trying to find a spot that I can connect. I would wonder if my phone is the problem, but everyone else on my floor with AT+T shares my problem. For the nation's largest network, they sure have the nation's largest problems.

Everyone says my calls break up and 9 out of 10 times my phone does not ring and goes straight to voice mail. I live on the 11th floor

Data speeds are terrible. My phone regularly shows 5 bars of service, but pulling up even simple mobile websites just doesn't work 40% of the time. Call quality is generally decent, but I don't make calls very often. Data though... is pretty much entirely unreliable.

I'm on the 5th floor of a 5 floor building with 2 foot thick brick walls and 2 large windows in the main room. I get 5 bars in the main room near the windows but only 4 in the kitchen or bathroom. Never a problem. There is a cell tower about 300 ft away across the street at same height as my apartment, but it must be a different carrier; otherwise I would get 5 bars in the kitchen... I hope.

The middle of the universe, Times Square, and I had miserable service all around the area and within all the buildings my company occupies in and around Times Square. Data wouldn't work, calls dropped constantly. I could be inside, outside, it really didn't matter. Almost everyone at my company has similar experiences. The assistants used to joke that they could tell who had ATT because we'd all congregate in the one square foot area where we could send texts. Service became so unreliable that I had to switch to Verizon. My $150 cancellation fee was the most painful expense I've ever had. Because their network is beyond miserable *I* had to pay to leave and also buy an new iPhone which was compatible with Verizon. Verizon blows AT&T away in terms of reliability of service. It works everywhere.. every time.

I would do anything to get off AT&T at this point. THere's no way I'm renewing the contract that's for sure. It's just terrible. Shows full bars, but tehre's no internet, no txt messages. As of the time of this writing my phone is one of the top tier phones you can buy, and it's a very thin, very light, paperweight. Manhatten coverage is just absolutely terrible for their supposed "4G" network.
