Until September 2021, my wireless service was with cricket. Hearing about the additional features offered by T-Mobile for the same cost of my cricket plan, I switched over to TMobile magenta plan. Since then, I have experienced many dropped calls from my specific location as well as intermittent to non-existent functionality of the hotspot tethered to my laptop. I've gone to at least five different T-Mobile stores where employees have told me various things including make sure the phone is tethered directly into the computer. That piece of advice has been helpful in allowing the hotspot to work. However the hotspot is not always working, even with the tethering. Could this be a tower problem? Please note that my old cricket phone provided 100% reliable hotspot too the same computer I am using now.Was this review helpful to you?
While just text messages go through to the receiver, any screenshot does not. I would put this down as the fault of the city that does not insure that there is very good cell phone coverage in the heart of its city - Times Square. Was this review helpful to you?
There's basically no data with T-Mobile anywhere in Times Square... pretty bad when you're NOT a tourist and live / work here. Was this review helpful to you?
Only 1 bar during day... . 2 or 3 late night... ..on LTE. 3G is fine 4-5 bars... . always need wifi for dataWas this review helpful to you?
Had only one signal bar. Although I have not experienced dropped calls, but data was coming at a snail's pace. I find across time square and Manhattan AT&T service is very poor. Cricket uses AT&T service. 2 MB download and 5MB upload. It should be 8 MB down and 8MB upload. Was this review helpful to you?
TBH, I've never had a problem with Sprint service until I moved to this apartment. The service on 10th Ave. is practically non-existantWas this review helpful to you?
I have to stick on my office window to talk on my cellphone. I am lucky if I get 2 bars. I am paying $95 a month for 5 G. Funny. Was this review helpful to you?
Lycamobile works ok around New York but we will wait and see for the rest of the country and will report backWas this review helpful to you?
The reception used to be fast and reliable, until about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm lucky if I can get even 4G, most the time I am inside a building I can't get ANY service, I'll randomly get text messages that will say sent over 1hr ago.Was this review helpful to you?
I had nearly perfect reception and coverage with Sprint 30-40 feet away from a window at one of the Rockefeller Center's building on the 15th floor. Since I switched to ATT a year and 3 months ago (thinking it would be better) it has not been great (I also bought a new S5 then). Every time I step 10 feet into a building (whichever building in the city) I lose coverage and cant receive calls. I have never been sure if it was my Samsung S5 or ATT, but had a feeling it was ATT. At my office I sit 5 feet away from a window to the main street and coverage was ok. In the past month however, something must have changed as I now never have coverage. The phone says I have 4 bars and 4G but I get absolutely nothing, texts fail to be sent and received, pages dont load, etc. So frustrating. Thinking of switching to either Verizon or Sprint again. Was this review helpful to you?
