AT&T

I get 0 bars inside my apartment (2nd floor). Outside, I get 5 bars immediately. Other than inside my apartment, I've had excellent signal. That said, my iphone toting friend is frequently dropped off the network while we were walking and driving in the University City area!

I have had very positive experiences with T mobile. I hear Verizon is good, as well. It's AT&T I am worried about. I was considering switching to the iphone, but with still so many complaints about service and dropped calls, I am hesitant. When I asked AT&T customer service about it, they said they have good coveraget in my area and are always improving. That wasn't specific enough for me. For now, I am sticking with T moble- their customer service is excellent and international service is also the most reasonable for periodic travel.

While I usually have 5 bars, I have rated the reception poor because of the poor call quality I receive at this location. It is my office, which is pretty high up in the Cira Centre. While my phone almost always shows full strength signal, it is very difficult to reliably make or receive calls. On many calls, the voice breaks up and at other times, I have trouble getting a call to go through. Most problems seem to be correlated with lunch time and the 4 pm - 6 pm. Definitely frustrating to not be able to reliably use my cell phone at the office.

I switched to AT&T from Sprint when we moved into the Radwyn Apartments. With Sprint, I could not make a call from inside our apartment unless I was roaming. With AT&T, I usually have no problems at all making and receiving calls. The only weird thing is that the bars on my phone regularly go up and down from one bar to full strength. I am guessing the bars go down when network usage is high, but I am not sure. Regardless of the strength, I almost always seem to be able to make a call without any problems - once in awhile a dropped call or some minor static, but that is not the norm. Overall, I am satisfied with AT&T - much better than Sprint for the Landover Rd. side of the Radwyn Apartments in Bryn Mawr.

VZW is slightly weak in this area, but even though I'm only showing 2 bars the quality is great and never lose reception outside. When inside some buildings the signal becomes iffy. (0-1 bar). Inside a residence though, I see a slight improvement (bar wise) to 2 bars. But again the sound quality is equal to when my phone has full bars. So, overall no complaints except for high prices!

Overall Verizon IS the best. However, this particualr area is a weak spot on VZW's coverage area. Good reception outside and iffy signal inside, but even so rarely drop a call and call quality better than 5 bars with AT&T.

I constantly get the message "Emergency Calls only" when I'm in the house because the reception is so bad. The call quality is horrible too and I often have to walk outside for the other party to hear. I moved here from Ohio and had Cellular One coverage before they were bought out by AT&T. The day my service was taken over by AT&T, my service suffered and it seems to still suffer in Lansdowne.

Drops just about every call in the house, nearby cannot make or receive calls in certain "pockets" of Havertown. Verizon did just let us out of our contracts though because it is a "known" problem area so *kudos* to the customer service department!
