I have very poor reception in my unit on the 2nd floor of a large, brick building. I must stand near the windows to so much as send a text message. The reception in the street is better, but still below average. I think the topography of Adams Morgan plays a large part in the poor reception problem. Was this review helpful to you?
I'm not sure why everyone else has been writing with 1s and 2s for reception for Verizon Wireless in the Silver Spring area. I suspect that it may have to do with inferior phone models. I have never had less than 4 bars anywhere in Silver Spring, even in the basement garage of my apartment building with a Motorola E815. Driving around the Washington Metro area, I never have less than 4 bars anywhere, even anywhere on the Beltway. Just my 2 cents. Was this review helpful to you?

don't mean to rub it in... but Cingular works for me!Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint is absolutely the worst service ever. I have a contract with them until 20008 and I am a poor student and STILL I am desperately seeking to get out of this contract. I called them SO many times to complain about my service and try to get a better deal for this service to no avail. I hate them. Even people I know that work for Sprint say that Sprint sucks. If you live in DC and are about to get a new service provider, choose ANYTHING BUT Sprint. It's ruining my social life, private life, and now even my professional life. I'm surprised I haven't turned into a loner hermit, thanks to Sprint's sucky service. Was this review helpful to you?
Reception is fairly weak all over campus, though mostly satisfactory outdoors. It is difficult if not impossible to send and receive calls in many buildings on campus, especially Leahy, Caldwell, and the Pryz. Was this review helpful to you?
I've lived in a top-floor and a bottom-floor apartment in this area. Reception on the top floor is perfect; on the bottom floor was marginal. On the bottom floor, and in the basement of my current apartment, calls would simply drop if I went into the hallway. I've never had a problem with reception outside, however. Was this review helpful to you?
I was so pumped when I got my Smartphone about a year ago, but I was living in Missouri at the time. Since I moved to DC about 9 months ago, I have been regretting my purchase, because my phone doesn't work with any other carriers except T-Mobile (of which I have not heard great things) and I can't have a conversation on this phone inside my house or in my office building. I haven't switched yet is because I use Windows music player and Outlook all the time and I have a 2nd cell from work (Sprint) that gets decent reception. Cingular also works great almost everywhere else in the country, and I travel a fair amount. All the same, maybe I should switch... I know Verizon does well in DC, but does anyone know how well it works in the rest of the country? What about international roaming... ?Was this review helpful to you?
Been with Sprint for 5 years -- never experience dropped calls. Reception is so-so in some areas but I can always get through. Phone has terrible sound -- used to think it was the reception but come to find out, it's my phone. I wish you test out phone sound before you buy.Was this review helpful to you?
