Terrible Coverage. I switched from AT&T to Verizon and learned to regret it. My apartment gets absolutely no reception. Also, in order to get a new phone one needs to commit to Verizon and the phone you buy for two years (unless you want to buy another phone at full price)... .this phone's quality etc progressively deteriorates with time and so does the service. Reception is extremely variable, and my default is to assume a bad connection rather than a good one.

I live in a house in Park View where I get reception from all points in the house, including basement and interior bathrooms.

Nextel

0 Out of 5 (0 stars) | SE Washington | Alabama Av SE, Washington, DC 20017 |

Reception anywhere in SE is minimal to poor. I have had every Nextel phone up to the I-860 and no phone receives great reception in that area. It is a good thing I don't need to go on that side of town often.

Nextel

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 495-Greenbelt, Silver Spring, MD 20910 |

On the beltway around Greenbelt heading toward Baltimore coming from AAFB, the call always gets muddled and then drops. Nextel suggests bringing the phone in for a diagnostic test, but never admits fault with their service area.

Everytime I drive from DC using 16th street into Maryland and am using the cell phone, it goes dead and takes at least 3 miles before I get a signal again. This ALWAYS occurs around Walter Reed, and not even really near the hospital. Nextel CSR's always say that I need to take my phone in to get it tested. Maybe they need to take their towers in to get THOSE tested.

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Taylor St. Ne | 20th St. Ne, Washington, DC 20018 |

a terrible reception problem, which seems to affect about a three block radius. I can tell because if I am driving there is almost a line that once I cross the receptions start to drop. Unable to make calls, answer voice mail, text messages seem to pop up whenever the reception re-establishes. sometimes thats within a few minutes, other times hours.

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | U St. | 13th, Washington, DC 20009 |

Lived there for 1 1 / 2 years and always had trouble with Cingular reception. Static, dropped calls, low signal, etc. It caused me real problems since we did not have a land line in the house and the cell phone reception was completely unreliable. Cingular's customer service was no help, either. I called them many times, and went into stores many times, and they showed me ALL the towers that were nearby --> I shouldn't be having problems there! I am so excited for my contract to finally expire so I can switch to Verizon.

Sprint

0 Out of 5 (0 stars) | Cathedral Avenue, NW | New Mexico Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20016 |

Over the past six months, I have had no reception in my apartment building or in the surrounding blocks, as far away as Foxhall Road. I used to be able to make Sprint calls from my balcony, but now I have to leave my neighborhood to get a signal.

Nextel

Phone has no signal or poor signal on the west side of the MCI Center. 7th to 9th streets. Been a problem ever since I have had Nextel on two different models.

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 34 Street / Reno | Macomb St., Washington, DC 20008 |

Coverage barely exists (and sometimes dies) at 33rd Place, rises slightly at 34th / Reno, dies again at 35th. This on a major NW artery!
