Surprisingly good reception, although my girlfriend has same provider, different phone, and doesn't have as good reception. My phone has decent signal inside and outside.

I can keep a call up the front steps of the house, but service inside depends on the season (no leaves = better signal but not great). Their signal map is about accurate for the house. Coverage has improved over the last couple of years but there are still irritating drop points. Cingular appears to have better signal in the house, but I am not thrilled with their pricing and contract length.

Nextel needs to dramatically improve it's reception / transmission capability throughout Arlington County. Barton St.is very bad with zero reception if it's the least bit overcast from Pershing to Clarendon Blvd.

Trying to call anyone in this area is absolutley horrible. The most bars I ever saw on my phone was at least 2. But the weird thing is you can get full reception in the DC metro underground.

We started with Verizon Wireless while living in Rhode Island. Never had any problems with our wireless service there. (Verizon DSL is another matter. Totally hosed.) Anyway, we moved to NW DC in May and neither of our two cell phones work worth a darn in our house, even in the second floor by the windows. Almost 100% of the calls at home get dropped. My wifes phone has an adapter plug for an external antenna. I bought one and it helps a lot. Trouble is I'm SOL when she's not here. I wish Verizon Wireless would look at their coverage just east of Wilson High School becuase it stinks. CAN YA HEAR ME NOW?

1st floor apartment, no reception except right next to a window, and even that is spotty. Great reception everywhere else in the DC area, but nearly useless at home.
