Around June 2016 I used to get 4 or 5 bars in my house. Now September 2016 always 2 or less. -108db when near a window.

Verizon

Shocked at how horrible the Verizon service is in this pocket of DC - I get barely anything outside my home and the walls block it entirely. I've heard from neighbors that other companies have made improvements in the area but Verizon hasn't yet.

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 2 Blocks From the White House, Washington, DC 20006 |

I've worked in 2 different locations in Foggy Bottom (2-5 blocks from the White House) and Verizon service has been horrible in both. Now I have to walk 2 blocks away from the building to pick up a signal.

Verizon coverage anywhere inside our condo is horrible - 50-60% of calls dropped. Signal strength is -120db. Ridiculous.

Verizon somehow has spread this myth that they have good service. The service is absolutely abysmal. Dropped calls all the time. Excruciatingly slow internet speeds. Just all around terrible reception. Both AT&T and T Mobile have better service, and T Mobile is much cheaper.

2 bars are the average in this area. I can't get a all unless my phone is by the window. My date rate is about 6mbs vs 22 in lenfant. Unsure what at and t is doing here, but it's essentially scraping by

Just switched to T-Mobile for their great international service and unlocked phone. Just one problem... Near my office in Rosslyn, VA, I get no service in many places -- especially bars and restaurants. My old carrier (ATT) always had 3-5 bars in these places.

AT&T

AT&T's service has gotten worse each yes for the last 3 years. If you call customer service they will tell you they have many towers and full coverage in the NW section of Washington. If you press them they will admit to have some issues with a few towers. After talking to several members of the Georgetown neighborhood association, I found that AT&T had for no charged provided several homes with micro-cells ( basically miniature cell towers) because they complained enough. AT&T is aware of a big problems in the Washington area but they refuse to acknowledge them. Washington is a small area roped off from Virginia on one side and Maryland on the other. This is basically a small area of almost costal topography. There are no mountains not even many hilly areas in the district. We have a height regulation on buildings. So when you can't get a restaurant review on the street 6 blocks form the White House their is a bad problem with charging 200 Hundred dollars a month. One of the funniest things is where their lobbyists work and shop is a bad zone. Maybe they gave them micro-cells. In Georgetown at the Safeway (oftentimes referred to as The Social Safeway) you can not Download your grocery list even outside in the parking lot. Why can't the government stop this fraud. If cities would expand their high speed Wifi over the city we could break this monopoly. The financial opportunities they would open for local business would but transformational. AT&T has taken advantage of this area for too long a time. Be Better OR Be Gone.
